Sic semper tyrannis
It is the morning of 26th December 1968 and the scandal breaks like a storm: Minister Nobby Leach has been poisoned. The suspect, Abraxas Malfoy, sits in a holding cell, red-handed and innocent. Auror Alice Longbottom is leading the investigation - not into the poisoning, but into a string of strange crimes: people vanishing, candlesticks stolen, and rumours that the dead are coming back. The Department of Mysteries is reluctant to help: James Selwyn left the office three weeks ago under a cloud of suspicion, and since then the Death Chamber has been locked, its contents sealed away.
Eyes are watching everything, everywhere, spying on protests and squishing riots, but talk is growing in the shadows: turning from unrest to rebellion to revolution.
Lord Voldemort is ready.
the sequel to Imperium
There’s more to the story of Voldemort’s fall than anyone’s ever shared. A tale of traitors and lovers and rogues who’ve gone unheralded for far too long. Secret elegies that are only now being sung.

Severus awakens on an unfamiliar shore with no memory of who he is or how he got there. The last thing he needs is to be dragged through the woods by an insufferable woman and her imbecile companion.
But, then, nobody asked for his opinion.
over the river and under the castle,
that's where the faery prince lies;
rose petals bloom in the mirror's gloom,
that's why the lost ones cry;
(there's a wind-whispered rule in the ruins of Hogwarts castle: whatever you do, don't bargain with the fey. it's a good rule, if a little rusty, but people have started not to listen.
they're young; they'll learn.)

What he had pictured in his head when he'd first thought of teaching were long, sweeping orations, students hanging on his every word, young minds being taken in and inspired by his message. What he did not fully consider, however, was that he would actually have to teach. (In which Tom Riddle begins teaching at Hogwarts and realizes just what a horribly stupid idea it was.)
They watch it sway back and forth, like a sweeping broom grating against a surface they cannot see yet somehow feel, like a silent pendulum marking time they cannot name yet somehow know deep within their bones; it’s something inescapable, an inevitability.
Eventually, it will come to a rest.
Former detective Evan Thorn investigates the mysterious death of a homeless man and discovers even more mysterious answers.

This is the first book of a trilogy, chronicling an AU version of Harry's 6th and 7th years at Hogwarts and a few years beyond.
The second book in this three-book collection. "Harry Potter and the Philtre of Promise", was the first written, originally published as chapters at www.phoenixsong.net, where it is still available in its original form, culminating with a release of the epilog on July 15th, 2005, the day before Ms. Rowling's sixth book, "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" was released. I was pleasantly surprised that I had unwittingly anticipated and duplicated several plot points.
This book, the first book in this series, "Harry Potter and the Rampage of Ages", was then started, to explain several points revealed but not explained in "Philtre of Promise", as well as to introduce plot points critical to the whole trilogy -- and to explain a few items that are not true to canon. The first sixteen chapters were published in fairly rapid order, but a series of debilitating strokes has delayed my continuation of the story until this time -- I am editing these chapters to correct a few mistakes, explain better some events, and to make the whole cohesive.
The third book, "Harry Potter and the Legacy of Evil", had been plotted out for writing when the strokes occurred, but most of those notes, along with the notes for the final chapters of the first book, were lost when a power surge fried the hard drive they were stored on. It has taken me far too many years to reconstruct those notes to complete this trilogy, working at recreating the salient plot points that were needed as I slowly recovered from the stroke. It is my fervent wish that my efforts will prove to be worthwhile, and that you, the readers, will enjoy this foray into my version of the world so beautifully created by J K Rowling.
Please note -- this collection is fan fiction, with everything but the plot and a few characters based on J K Rowling's work, and never was, is not, and never will be intended to infringe on any copyrights, trademarks, or other legal declarations of ownership held by anyone anywhere. These stories were written for the amusement of myself and other fans of the Harry Potter series as FAN FICTION, and I thank Ms. Rowling for allowing fans of the series such as myself to play in her created universe.
