Hi there! It’s been a while since this story has been updated. I know sometimes we wait for the muse to get her butt in gear, but I’m hoping that sprinkling some words here will prod her along. Because, you know we are all waiting with baited breath.

The picture of Viv being a peevish turtle has me grinning. I know the feeling of wanting to hide away and pretend not to be seen. It’s good to know that their mother knows exactly how to bring Viv out of her self-imposed shell, if only for a few seconds. Chocolate is magic that way.

I have missed this story!

It’s so nice to have a noninvasive family member who really understands how to get you talking when you don’t want to talk, but you really, really need to. I feel like Audrey’s dad has this superpower, and I am grateful for him!

This is so true - when the mere suggestion of breaking things off makes you want to hold on all the stronger, that’s when you know there’s something important there. And this is a good thing, too, to take some time and distance to let all the things settle so that you can see clearer which decisions need to be made.

Breaking in a new boss, especially a boss like that, is no fun. And then, from Audrey’s perspective, Percy carrying on as if nothing grave has happened sends up all kinds of red flags. She doesn’t get it, until she does, and that note… That note hurt. In a horrible, terrible way.

But look, the twist on this chapter was so so good, and horrible, but in all the good ways.

Poor, poor Audrey!

Hello, Emily! Happy new year! :D

Here with a very late gift for your wishlist (sorry for the lateness) and very excited for some more Tedromeda!!! <3 <3 <3

This chapter was definitely a heavy packed one... well, just like all the other chapters, to be fair... :P so much mystery, so many exciting things happening... and yay, Ted is back, and he and Dromeda are just as adorable as always!!! But we'll get there... ;)

Okay, but... what's up with Sandgate Wells? Something big was going on there, that's rather obvious... big and top secret... so much so that Dumbledore doesn't trust Andromeda with any info about it at all... and yet somehow the Death Eaters got word of it...? Isn't that suspicious in itself? But no one seems to know exactly what it was all about. Gideon didn't even know about it, and Ted... was curiously assigned to this worthless mission right in that time period? Was there some other reason Dumbledore kept him away? Was it actually to keep Andromeda in the dark about this particular piece of information? If that's the real reason, I'm even more curious to know what it is all about... I agree with Cygnus, "This only reaffirms its importance"

I feel for poor Gideon... all this subterfuge is getting to him, and that's understandable... and he's probably feeling left out in the Order, which must not be nice... and I hate this sort of mistrust that he's feeling towards Andromeda... it's sad... I mean, maybe mistrust isn't the right word, but... :(

The reunion with Ted was the absolutely sweetest thing ever!!! They are truly so enamored with each other, are they not? The kisses, their happiness, the way she was carrying the parchment around because she couldn't wait for him to write, and then the way she rushed to hug him... aww!!!!! They are precious! So precious! I can't get enough of it! And Gideon's teasing later was delicious, too! Ahahah! Andromeda blushing and promising revenge... it's too good, I love it so much! :D

So, they managed to get the spy into the Order... interesting, that they took his memories so that he could pass the interview with Dumbledore... but yeah, I thought too that it was quite strange that Cygnus would let Andromeda hand the bottle through Gideon... surely there must be some extra security in this process... I wonder what they'll see in that bottle if they actually use the Pensive first... (side note, I loved the whole "are you thinking what I'm thinking bit"! Ted and Dromeda are so in tuning with each other, it's so cute! <3)

Oh, and we have the other mystery of the white flowers... so maybe there was a significance there? Did they actually refer to Gladiola? Was she a target? And if so, why is she so important? And what does it have to do with Sandgate Wells? Or is it just a coincidence that they caught her there? Will she even heal? I don't even know who she is, but now I'm so worried for her...

Wonderful chapter, as always!

Happy new year again and huge snowball hug,

Chiara

Hi, Branwen! Happy holidays! :D

Oh, look, my children not getting into some crazy trouble for once... I wonder how many chapters this will last, I guess very little... :P Goldstein obviously agrees with me... :P They weren't exactly convincing with their claim that their prank war was over... :P

I like your innovations to the Hogwarts curriculum and Ministry departments. Bureau for the Control of Dangerous Creatures makes a lot more sense than its predecessor, which seemed to exist with the purpose of keeping all magical creatures subjugated to wizards... I like the idea of Seamus and Lavender at the head of the department, too! :D And... I didn't realize that Anthony taught two classes and both revolve around magical creatures? Is this a change you made later or do I just have a really bad memory? :P Makes sense that since he's such a strict professor, not many students would follow both courses at NEWT level, that comment from Seamus "And I thought the rumors about how terrifying you were as a professor were exaggerated." made me chuckle! :D

I also love all the new species you introduced here, it's so cool to imagine all these strange crosses coming up. I enjoy your worldbuilding a lot! :D

Oh, I forgot about Vic's ambition of becoming an Animagus? :O I wonder where you're bringing that storyline... and I wonder if anything will happen now that Gallagher has overheard this bit of info... :P

Another fun chapter! Always a pleasure to come back here! <3

Snowball hug and happy new year!

Hi, Ineke! Here for your wishlist! Hope it's okay that I picked this story to review... you know that I've grown fond of Brooklin Nine-Nine, and I always love a good friendship story, so I had to! :P

And this was really lovely to read! I think you captured Rosa's mindset so well, it's just brilliant! I had to chuckle a little at the opening paragraph: Rosa was the first to admit that she didn't do emotions. It made her feel weak, vulnerable, uncomfortable, and those were all emotions she didn't know what to do with. It's just brilliant! :P But also, I love how you show that there is a fragility behind her tough front and that the tough front is nothing but a defense mechanism... it makes her feel so human and relatable and I love that! <3

I mean, no one could really have a separate private life at the Nine-Nine, could they? :P I mean, it's what makes them such a great team and a big part of the charm of the show, but I can understand how someone like Rosa might find it a bit uncomfortable... :/ But also, Jake is the absolute best friend, isn't he? And even if he might be a bit... too much at times, Rosa is lucky to have him by her side! <3

Ah, I almost forgot when they were sent to prison... :/ That's definitely the kind of experience that scars you for life, isn't it? Again, I love the depth you gave to it, the way Rosa was once again rejecting everyone's pity because she needed to cling to some sense of normalcy... I wish I could give her a hug, even if I know that's the last thing she would want... :P

That phone call in the middle of the night was such a powerful moment! It's a big step from Rosa, reaching out like that (even if she wanted to undo it immediately after) And Jake's support was absolutely wonderful! 'Look. I won't make you talk. I'll happily stay on the phone with you just saying nothing until you fall asleep if that's what you need, Rosa. But whatever you say - this isn't nothing. We both know that.' If this isn't peak friendship, I don't know what is! Also, loved how they could fully understand each other, even if their words didn't make much sense at all... it really shows how deep their bond is... (well, obviously it helps that this was an experience they shared, but also they have a way to communicate at a deep level that I love! <3)

This was a really great read! Thank you for writing and sharing! :D

Snowball hug and happy holidays,

Chiara

I know it's almost been a year now but I'd love it if you can continue this story. I LOVE Percy and Audrey, you've made them into one of my favourite couples and I just really need to see how their story ends.

I really liked how you brought them back together in this chapter. How they both got their points across clearly and held their own. That it wasn't some magic fix and they actually had to work through their issues. I'm also just so happy that they're talking again because I don't think I could have coped with much more of them being apart!

I love your writing and I love this story and I just really hope you find the time to continue because this story is just so beautiful.

"I'll, er..." I'll just keep my trousers on, shall I?"

Hahahaha Oh Ron. I loved how we only got a glimpse of here and it was enough to make my whole day <3

I'm so glad Hermione was able to offer a listening ear and a new perspective on things. She has a such solid understanding of how to react under this situations. Really, everyone needs a friend like that. She listens patiently and is honest enough to tell her what she really thinks versus what she knows Audrey wants to hear. She also recognizes the ways in which Percy was wrong and acknowledges that Audrey has a right to feel the way she does. By the way, the "what, hearing that Percy's been a prat? I'm familiar" made me laugh. I just love this family so much.

Speaking of families I love, oh Vivian! :( Audrey has always seen her as the stronger as the two but, of course, there are things that hurt her too, and she's had her own turmoils this past two months. I don't see how losing a 9 year old could not not be hard,  you know? No matter how long you've been in the job, stuff like that must always be hard hits, and her boyfriend was such a jerk for complaining about her being sad for too long. Good riddance of him.

And Percy! I can't help but feel like he's in so much pain and that part of the reason he's avoiding Audrey is because he can't emotionally handle their relationship ending at the moment. He's hanging on by a thread and it's coming off like he's avoiding the situation all together. My heart just breaks for him.

(and random thought - is the little boy's last name significant? something to find out soon...)

Another great chapter!

Quilly

Hi Melanie! Came by to woo a Minotaur... and found myself utterly heartbroken by this chapter.

I wish I could side with either Audrey or Percy but honestly I see both points of views and so now I'm just aching for the both of them. On one side, Audrey deserved to hold ownership of how she wanted to handle the situation. I'd be deeply mortified and offended if my partner meddled in my work affairs. She already struggles with looking weak and not being taken seriously - Percy coming in to "save the day" for her did not help that situation at all. I don't think Percy is trying to "fix her" but I can certaintly see how she would feel that way.

"It's literally in black and white, I can show you where it is." This line made me laugh a bit but also so very defining of his thought process/conviction. For Percy, there is only ONE right thing to do and that thing MUST get done one way or another. I can't help but think that this is a very Weasley trait of him. They always mean well and react in what they consider is the right way, but they're not always very aware of how those actions will affect the emotions of others.

In the end, they're both very hurt. Madeline is just the worst human being and, unfortunately, quite brilliant at knowing exactly what to say to hurt other people. She managed to humilate both Percy and Audrey and then they, instead of comforting each other, react sort of defensively and further injure each other's feelings.

The Darcys and Madeleines of the world, I was certain, didn't do it. And it was laughable to think of the Hermiones of the world in this situation.

A little bit of irony there considering we have known Hermione to have spent her own time weeping around (not to mention that famous scene where she's trapped in a bathroom with a troll specifically due to that reason) and though she was much younger then, I think it's a good reminder that everyone has their breaking points, though, of course, Audrey can't imagine that to be because she's never seen the women around her hitting lows.

I really hope that Hermione is able to be a source of comfort.

Brilliant chapter as always!

Love, Quilly

Hi!!! I’m here to woo a werewolf and also because I’ve been meaning to jump into the shenanigans universe for ages <3

Vic and Fred seem wonderful! There’s already this Weasley chaoticness about them that I love. The whole “let’s tell our parents a little white lie” was really relatable and the fact that it went wrong so quickly was hilarious.

And awe I LOVED Teddy. The way he was rolling his eyes at their attempts to sugar him up but was still like “well are y’all hungry” was just such great instant characterization. He seems like the caretaker of the three. <3 Also it’s so cute how he has pictures of Vic at his flat. (I was laughing at Fred being all “but what about me???” hahaha)

And a dark creature exhibit? That sounds like another way for Vic and Fred to find trouble? But maybe Teddy will keep them in line. I’m excited to read more about these two and also really excited to follow them to their friends/life at Hogwarts.

Back for more werewolf wooing and because I was dying to get to Hogwarts <3

"Kind of a creepy genteleman" hahaha but also fair, I can see that.

I am in love with Vic and Fred's friendship. They seem to be able to keep it real and honest with each other and non-judgemental so just really great friendship goals. Also I really love that Fred seems to really act his age. He reminds me of my guy friends when we were that age so that whole conversation about what what he likes and what not just felt very teenager-y in a really authentic kind of way.

The friends also seemed great fun and I can't wait to get to knwo all of them a bit better. Vic's awkwardness over her friends probing her over Teddy was really relateable.

And awe they seem to have gotten in trouble. I guess it wouldn't have been realistic to expect the adults not to have noticed that they were missing on the train. But hopefully they're not in *too* much trouble?

Another wonderful chapter <3

Hiiii! Here for Chapter Two <3

Awe Vic going all red because Teddy casually decided to go shirtless in front of them and Fred having to step in and be like, 'she's fine but you need to put on a shirt." Also I loved how Fred immeditely knew what was bothering Vic without her even having to say it. It's just such a great show of their friendship.

You did a really wonderful job describing the exibition. It really made us feel like we were there. Teddy is so sweet and caring towards Vic. The way he comforts her when the blind Basilik scares her seems to genuine. Like, I think it's obvious hye has feelings for her but it doesn't feel like he's expecting anything in return other than friendship.

And Vic keeps his jacket <3<3<3

And Teddy is going to visit her at Hogsmeade <3<3<3

Already so many things to look forward to in the upcoming chapters.

Another really great chapter!

Hiiiii! Here for our swap <3

Okay, okay, so OBVIOUSLY I don't enjoying watching these two fighting BUT is it wrong that I'm loving Percy having this very Weasley, very Gryffindor moment, where he's being stubborn as heck about doing the right thing and standing up for yourself even if all the odds are stacked against you?

Anyways, I'm an Audrey in this scenerio and so as someone who HATES conflict, yeah, I'd probably do the same about things, trying to convince myself that there's an explanation, the whole "those are hardly revolutionary ideas" to somehow justify it, and the going back and forth trying to decide whether or not to it's worth even bringing it up with that person.

Ahh that entire conversation with her boss was sooo awkward though, and I do feel like that would've been time to just be honest and stand up for herself. But wait, was Percy the one that told on Madeleine? It FEELS that way but I want to believe that Percy would let Audrey handle things her way even if he didn't agree with them?

This was such an intense chapter! Really well done. I can't wait to get some more answers.

Love, Quilly.

Awe Audrey. I can't imagine I'd be very happy either if I was all bumpy and green. I loved how tender Percy can be with her though, the way he's teasing her but also taking her and calling her Bumpy was just the most adorable thing.

Poor Percy. He's worked so hard and deserves that promotion. Audrey's right though. He's still VERY young. I can see why he thinks age doesn't matter and think himself better qualified than even those older than him, but sometiems with jobs like this, seniority doesn't take preference. He's also a bit difficult to work with sometimes so maybe that's something he needs to work on ;P All this to say, I REALLY hope it's not coming down to just him having panic attacks because that'd be highly unfair.

Ugh and the whole Madeline situation has me feeling all sorts of way. On one end, I agree with Percy. I do feel like Madeline stole Audrey's ideas and that Audrey should speak and say something. HOWEVER, in the end, it's Audrey's call to do what's best. I'm the type of person who tries to avoid conflict, so I completely understand why she woud want to ignore the whole thing entirely. That argument felt really relatable though. They're both trying to do what's best and it'd be impratical for them to always agree on everything. I have really high hopes that they'll be able to talk this one out.

Another really great chapter!

I absolutely adored Audrey hanging out with Hermione and Ginny. Ginny was just perfection here. The perfect amount of snarky and her just not having it with all the attention the wedding is bringing on for them is very on character. Hermione with the spreadsheets made me crack up. Like, of course, she would. And George crashing on girls night and bickering with Ginny was also hilarious.

"Quick, somebody talk about spreadsheets so he'll go away."/ Supposedly red's all right, which seems strange, doesn't it, but then again, I don't make the rules." I LIVE for your Weasley dynamics. <3

But what are you doing to me with Percy taking care of Audrey while she's sick? Seriously, every time I feel like I can't love them anymore than I already do, you pull something like this on me. He was so sweet to her and gentle and patient and ahhh my heart's just bursting right now. And lmbo at "i don't like being a dragon..."/ "No, not many people do." and "Green's a very nice color."

This was another wonderful chapter. I seriously still can't get over how beautifully you write these two and I always end the chapter smiling like an idiot because their adorablness is everything.

Awe I feel so terrible for Percy. It makes so much sense that being in the courtroom would bring back all those painful moments for him.

"Well, why do one when you can do both." This is such a relatable way to explain how panic attacks work. I also apprecite how he refuses to let go of his wit, even in moments like this.

Also - really liked that Robbie went to go get Audrey. I mean, it wasn't an easy choice, because he probably knew it would upset Percy, but he knew that he needed Audrey and made the right call to go and fetch her. It made me really appreciate him as a character.

As always, I loved Hermione. She stayed cool and praticial through it all and didn't get offended when Percy gave her sass. The whole thing about pride being a genetic thing was also very on point. It also made me realize how much Percy and Ron have in common. They both wanted to prove themselves. They can both act like prats when they're insecure. They both hide behind humor sometimes. I mean, they're very different people still, but yeah, there's more similiarties than I would've given them credited for at first glance.

And that moment in the end. Just such perfect fluffiness <3

Loved the chapter!

Hii! I'm here for an overdue swap <3

"So why should it be any different just because the person asking the questions is wearing purple robes?" I'm loving Hermione's energy here. I love how she's so sure of herself and confident that she's prepared herself enough to have an answer for all the questions thrown her way. I also really love the way she's with Audrey. She doesn't *have* to help or really benefit in any signficant way, but this just one of those moments where an empowered woman empowers another woman and that's always a beautiful thing to watch.

I love how Audrey thought ahead to give Bonnie a gift and then allows Percy to take credit for it. That and the "please get some sleep" were just such subtle ways to look after him right now that he's overwhelmed with work and not really looking after himself.

And speaking of people not looking after themselves, I hope Vivian's okay. She's another one that be overworking themselves. :/

Another great chapter!

Love, Quily.

Author's Response:

Yes, I can't imagine Hermione would see a glaring problem in the system and not want to do whatever she could to help fix it. XD

Sometimes we think of partners as being in balance with one another, but I almost prefer to think of Audrey as a support for Percy rather than a balance. Like she encourages him in all his Percyness, as long as he's not making himself ill in the process.

Viv... :(

I absolutely adore the way you write the Weasleys. Seriously every time they come on, I start smiling even before they start speaking because I just know the banter is going to be top line. Even those small, insignificant comments (Oh. Well, he said it posh, I hardly noticed.") are just hilarious and reflect so well on that Weasley humor. I love how Victoire is bilingual, soon too be trilingual, and I loved how in her small head she's made the sense of the fact that English is spoken with her father's family and French is spoken with her mom's family.

It's intersting how Audrey is so afraid of hearing Voldemort's name. She was deeply affected by him and was homeschooled during the time, but it goes to show how Voldemort just became synonymous with something truly evil.

Awe I loved that Percy was able to talk to Audrey about Fred and he did it a way that seemed so genuine and honest. He was letting her in on the good memories and the ones that weren't so great. It just felt very vunerable and open of him.

And then the I love you!!!!!!!!!! dkjfdoufljdfke I know you wrote this before you wrote the fluff collection but I sort of love that I know EXACTLY what it was that Percy was thinking when he said and that just makes the whole moment even more beautiful!

Another great chapter! (I'll be coming back shortly for the swap but gonna use this one for TAG!)

Love, Quilly.

Author's Response:

Thank you so much, Quilly! Thing about Audrey with Voldie's name is, I think by the end of canon we've all become accustomed to hearing the characters use Voldemort's name like it ain't no thing, but I just remember back to book 1, where the wizarding world had all genuinely thought Voldemort was dead for *10 years* but even in 1991 various characters are still having terrified reactions to the name being said aloud. Audrey's representative of the huge amount of the population who were not involved in canon events, the Order, etc, and her experience is so hugely divergent from that of Percy and his family. Audrey is definitely no hero in conventional terms.

I love that you got to read the ILY from Percy's POV before this! For the longest time his POV was not available. XD

Poor Audrey, having to deal with her nosey coworkers. Is it bad that I don't entirely blame them though? Lol Like if my coworker was dating into one of the most famous families in the nation/world, I probably wouldn't ask her about but I WOULD WANT TO KNOW! Like what they are like? Give me alllllll the tea!!!! Haha Audrey's discreet though, so I feel bad that they're putting her in that position.

I keep going back and forth on Madeline but I can't help but I can't help but feel like there's something off about her. She'll be fine one moment and then she throws something like Though I suppose it's hardly your fault that Dibble and Lionel allowed the most junior person in the office to sort out the complaints in the beginning and I can't help but feel like she's being snarky/throwing shade/something.

On a smaller note - I've been loving how you're portraying Ron and Harry's partnership with Harry being kind of obsessive over work, stayling late nights and skipping meals, and Ron being like GIMME A REST! Lol like based on how they were at Hogwarts, I've always sorted of imagined them to be something like this as well.

Percy was, as always, completely adorable, sending her the perfect flowers, tappping her nose, bonding with her family, and just being all around boyfriend goals.

Apeaking of family - Poor Mr. Blakely. I wasn't expecting for it to be anything that terrible.

Another really great chapter!

I loved grown up Hermione so much! I've loved all your characterizations so far but Hermione is so hard to get right and I just admire you so much for being able to do that. The way she has a photograph of Ron and Harry being silly right next to one where she's shaking hands with the Minister is just so her. By the way, I'm all about the girl power in that scene. I loved seeing two very different women coming together to solve a problem and both contributing so much to the thought process and respecting each other's input. Really lovely to see!

I also really liked Percy and Audrey coming together to discuss work at the end. It feels so relateable and something couples do. I also like Percy being like, "I can't talk to you about that" because of course he trusts her but he honors his professionalism.

hahahahhaha Melanie,I couldn't with that last line! I was dyinggg from laughing so hard! Like, honestly, here I am, super focused, trying to figure out what's up with the wands and Madeline and the wand, and you end it with that line, just perfect comedic timing. I really do adore your sense of humor! Lol

I LOVED this chapter like so, so, so, so much!!! Honestly, it's probably one of my favorites now because that Weasley chaos is exactly what I live for and you executed it so beautifully!

First of all - I loved grown up Ginny. She's every bit as witty as I imagined her. I love how she gets along with Victoire. I can totally see her beign the fun aunt. I also love the way she's immediately welcoming to Audrey and starts off by introducing herself as "the normal one." Ooh and that bit where she tells Victoire that George has sweeties but she has to pester him about it... hilarious!

And then George, of course, was BRILLIANT. The way he calls Percy HB! And also the way he teases about his mom asking about his bedroom activities. I was literally laughing out loud through most of his dialogue.

There was a lot of people in this chapter but you showed their dynamics together so effortlessly and everything just flowed beautifully. I loved the whole bit about the cold piece. Like that was such genius piece of writing and so on brand with the Weasleys and it's so believable that they'd tease their sister like this.

I seriously cannot begin to tell you how much I was smiling at this chapter. Thank you for writing it!

Nobody but society, for centuries the best freaking line. so absolutely witty and true.

I loved the way you described the atrium, the details you included about the phoenix fountain was really sad but added to the overall mood of the conversationt that, which by the way, was also really interesting. Audrey doesn't have much experience with the war and so it was nice that she had someone that was able to offer a fresh perspective on things.

Percy's happiness at the end was just eeevvvverryyyythiiinnng! Like, I could literally feel his joy in having Audrey back in his life. The way he hugged her and it was more intimatet than any kiss! And the way he let her play with his hair and was said "Just happy, is all." My heart!

(btw - I was equally offended that he tried to brown it. how dare him indeed.)

Another amazing chapter!

I'm still pending a swap for you but I'm gonna slide into review tag first for some more Irrational because we were left at such a cliffhanger last chapter.

I feel like I spend most of reviews either fangirling over Percy or over Vivian but that's only beccause I love them both so much. Once again, Vivian is being such a good support system to Audrey. She's really trying to be fair about the situation. Percy was young. Everyone makes mistakes at that age. Etc. She's also keeping in mind that Audrey might still not the person to want to forgive those past mistakes. The whole "if it's a saint you want..." was a very adequate response and very fitting to the situation.

I also enjoyed the conversation btwn the two sisters because it was such a good reflection on the early days of the war and how it appeared to others. Someone rising from the dead DOES sound crazy. It's one of those things you wouldn't even WANT to believe so a lot people chose to just not until they no longer could.

It was nice of Madeline to resuce Audrey. I loved that she wasn't prying into her life - or wanting her to become a part of hers necessarily. It was more of a "men can be dumb. let me save you from that" and that's always nice to see.

And the conversation between her and Percy at th end, my heart. They're STILL so fitting together, so easy, despite the awkwardness. And like, yeah, Percy's not a saint, but he IS such a good guy, respecting her boundaries, being patient and kind while she sorts out her thoughts. And even supporting her career-wise.

"You'll met know, won't you? One way or the other?" I felt all his heartache here, being left in limbo, and not knowing if he's past is going to affect his chances with someone he's genuinely grown to care about.

Ugh Audrey. Forgive that boy alreay. He so obviously adores you and has grown up so much in the last few years.

Another great chapter!

I was obviously feeling horrible for Audrey & Percy both but OMG Vivivan still made me laugh so hard. "I've got some words you can borrow."/"Nonsense! You've got to assert your dominance early on." were just such Vivian advice and I love that Audrey's able to count with her as a sister and a friend. Theyr'e just so powerful and lovely together. Andd eeek! The awkwardness at the lift. I would've loved to have known what it was that Ron told Percy Lol.

That conversation with Percy WAS heartbreaking though. I remember thinking Percy was such a tosser when I read the HP books and all of that was going on... But now, from a more adult perspective, I think he's one of the most relatable characters. At that age, you sometimes just want to prove yourself. You feel like you'renot a child anymore. Your parents don't know best. You're of age so they can't control you. And you often don't make the best decisions.

The coup/war and everything got out of hand reallly quickly and it's easy to see how that could blindside a fresh-out-of-Hogwarts kid who had no experience with such things. I'm sure A LOT of people working at the Ministry at the time sort of chose to just go along with things in order to keep their families and themselves safe. And then he DOES go fight with them at the Battle of Hogwarts but it doesn't beocme something he feels proud of (though it should) because he loses his brother there and it just becomes another "I could've done more."

Anyways, this was another brillant chapter. Gave us loads to consider <3

"Oh, fine, you've been talking about him for three months." "Because he had a stupid look on his face, too." Again, I absolutely love Vivian. She's just everything a sister should be. She teases Audrey but also compliments her and builds her and gives her good advice with the whole "go back in there." Speaking of siblings, I was living for that moment when Percy's feeling beaming with pride about Ginny. <3

Mum had also become quite vocal with my sister and me these days about her desire for grandchildren, and I think she'd decided she was willing to accept any candiate who wasn't raised by wolves. That's hilarious! Lolol.

Well goddamn, that whole conversation between Percy and Audrey broke my heart. I can sort of guess to what Percy wants to talk about, maybe, but he definitely didn't do the best job at it. I think there's a lot of insecurties and guilt he's carrying with himself and he thinks Audrey's just this amazing person who couldn't possibly love him if she knew him for all that he is. Obviously we know better but those feelings of doubt are still so valid and my heart aches for him.

Either way, he needs to get himself together because Audrey's obviously been hurt and it's not fair to her.

Another wonderfuly written chapter!

Just when I feel like my heart couldn't be expanded anymore by this story - this come alongs and leaves in alllll of my feels and gushiness.

I thought it was cute how Audrey was feeling insecure about going to the quidditch match because she's just not a fan and doesn't want to ruin it for him and Percy's like 'do you realize how lucky we are to have these tickets?!' And that Ginny got them for him. I love that slight nod that sibling relationship.

Vivian sucking up at work is just so Vivian. I love how she's even feeling proud of herself for it. I'm curious about why Percy and Audrey's dad would disagree on politics? I love her dad though. He's hilarious and hopefully does get along with Percy once they meet.

"Would I let anything happen to you?" Dear god, these lines just ::heart eyes::

Again, I love a quidditch-obsessed Percy. It's very Weasley of him and the way he has a thought and comment for every player is just very him. I love how he's totally into the game and then, suddenly, brushes her hair away and kisses her shoulder, because if that's not love, I don't know what the heck is. The both of them are just so natrual with each other and so full of vibes. And of course we see that when they come home that night.

Oh Audrey almost saying "I love you" had me squeeling. Her asking him to stay DID make me squeel. And I need to get to that smut scene asap!

Another wonderful, wonderful chapter!

Author's Response:

You have now officially reached the point where I originally abandoned this story 10 years ago!! That's just a bit of trivia, I had no other reason for sharing that. XD

Audrey's dad, for all he's basically a wizard cop, is in general just less rigid in his approach to things than Percy (I mean, who isn't?) and more willing to see shades of grey. I don't really get into it in this story, but basically, Jack Greene is a heck of a lot more laid back than Percy ever was or will be, and that kind of attitude crosses over into politics I think. :)

Thank you thank you so much for this, and for all of your Percy/Audrey enthusiasm!! <3

Hi <3 Here for our swap!

The moment I read that first sentence, I was like yay! Moira! I really love her and enjoy her unlikely/ makes totally sense friendship with Audrey. I also love Moira's relationship with Sheldon because he can be sort of a git but I feel like Moira's has affection for him none-the-less and treats him more like a ruly child.

I like how Audrey goes to visit Percy after her coworkes have told her how awful he's been but she's not upset with him. She's just like, okay, what's up with your mood? And then she just listens to him complain endlessly. It's such a subtle but important way to care about someone and very much what Percy needs in his life.

"Percy, I realized, had automatically thrown one arm in front of me" Swooooon!

The bookstore was such a nice added scene. They're still getting to know each other but I feel like they already feel very comfortable with one another and it shows in how honest they are about their feelings regarding their work. It feels very much like there's a friendship building on top of the romantic relationship and that's just the best kind of relationship. It did make me a little sad to see Percy's laugh falter when she asks him about his teenage years.

Fingers still laced with mine, he raised my hand and kissed it. Butterflies all over the place over here, thank you very much.

Love, Quilly.
