This was a dark and sad piece of flash fiction, but so so good. I haven't watched Buffy in a hot minute, but two sentences into this I was right back into the story and the feels and the slayer angst that always followed Buffy like this shroud. That idea that death is her gift. AHHHH you really capture that internal struggle she goes through in the later seasons after being brought back. After experiencing something so peaceful and restful just to get thrown back into the chaos and darkness of the world she has to fight through each day. 

 

And when you talk about the one good day. That's a Spike thing isn't it? When he's telling her about the slayers he's killed? GAH what a good flipping episode. What a great show! I need to read more Buffy fics if I'm honest cause I love me some Buffy content and it always has angst to deliver. Really well done. Really sad. But really really Buffy.
