Oh my gawsh they’re already pregnant?! Oh my gawsh yaaas! But yes, fair point, does everyone in DA need to be aware lol?

Oh ok, so Dudley doesn’t know. Ok, so I kind of see the point in them telling Harry and I see that the coins, while it might’ve just been like Hannah going to tell them, it would inevitably call everyone else who still had their coin handy. So that logic made sense.

LOL at Hermione and Ron “Dudley’s reaching out to you, Harry.” // “Actually I think he was reaching out to Cho.” I laughed.

I do appreciate that Harry and Dudley both want to break the cycle of abuse. Of course, Dudley is more unaware of the situation than Harry at present. But based on how you portrayed him in the first two chapters, we can tell that he’s trying in his own way as well.

Another great chapter!

"....whenever he was stressed, his hand unconsciously found itself there." - LOVE this little detail!!

Honestly I breezed through this chapter withpout stopping to take notes and perhaps why this review is much shorter than the others - but Luna just adds so much spice to every conversation she's in I love it!

A few points stuck with me: Yay Lavendar is alive in this - <3 Neville's calm energy is just perfect - I can already picture him as a professor! Poor Harry, his childhood trauma is getting all dredged up and rightfully so - he was treated so badly as a child and this just seems like fresh wounds! Although it is a super weird situation to be in admittedly!

Over to the next chapter now!

~ Ysh XOXO

Author's Response:

This chapter is also definitely the shortest in the fic, so it's easy to breeze through by accident!

I support Lavender-being-alive rights.  And also a werewolf, though that doesn't really get any chance to come up in this!  I hadn't really intended on dwelling on Harry's trauma much when I started writing this, and then it jsut became too important to ignore.

Thanks so much for the lovely reviews :)

hello i am BACK for chapter 3, and fairyland, and what a twist in narration this ended up being! but i'm SO HERE FOR IT, THE GANG IS ALL PAIRED UP AND BACK TOGETHER AGAIN, I AM SO HAPPY

poor harry, though. it's something i don't understand from life experience but can certainly emphasize with. you love your friends, and you want them to be happy and to hang out with them, but there's a part of you that just WANTS TO BE ALONE WITH YOUR WIFE ON A SUNDAY MORNING, GODDAMN. also, ginny's pregnant already?? i am veerrry intrigued to know what's going to happen when everyone finds out!

okay, but like, i love this? i love that they call a crisis meeting because dudley got cho pregnant but also like, WHAT! this story is filled with unexpected twists and i am absolutely, 100% here for it. i feel kind of bad for cho here, though i understand why they're all sort of making fun of her for being bad at casting spells. and omg, i love the idea that there's a spell they can put on a room so that people don't get totally wasted but think they are. that's incredible and feels so, so much like magic. i can't even really begin to describe it i just feel like saying "this makes so much sense!" at everything that i fully accept this as canon

it makes me so happy that everyone has a partner and that everyone is coupled up. and them talking about their friends and gossiping and just being sort of like, normal humans?? i love it so much, it just feels so wholesome and warms my fuzzy little heart to pieces

and oh my god, harry. i love harry so, so much here. how passionate he is about raising this child right and that he doesn't want them to just close the cupboard door on him because he knows, he's been there. i've never really been a huuuuge fan of harry in fics, but this? yes. this i am HERE FOR

(then again, i didn't know i was a fan of dudley in fics either, so here you are, proving me wrong :P)

another incredible chapter! ♥

Author's Response:

Welcome to the... Harry party?

Harry just wants to hang out with his lovely (and pregnant, oops) wife, but his friends are insisting on being wheels three through twelve and it's very aggravating.

I had a tonne of fun writing the sheer gossipy energy of this.  Like, they might all have done some War Trauma Stuff Together, but they are ultimately all in their early twenties and so it's been fun to write them being a bit sloppy and extremely nosey about this, even when it isn't really anyone there's business.  Except maybe Harry, who certainly makes a compelling argument for that.  It was also important to me to make them all happy, though - they really deserve it!

I've not always been the biggest fan of Harry in fics (or canon, actually) before (though I love him when he's done well) - so maybe it's that same energy coming through.  He's in this a little as a secondary perspective, but Dudley definitely stays the main character.

Thanks so much :) hope you enjoy the rest.

Hello again!

So I personally thought it was a little funny that the group were declaring cho's pregnancy (!!) as a crisis. I don't think it particularly concerns them if I'm honest but perhaps they were worried about how Harry might react due to his upbringing which was the main issue for them here?

I love the mix of characters that you've used here personally. you've worked this chapter so well that everyone had their part to play. I've never thought about Luna/Parvati as a couple but I'm really quite digging it tbh. I would totally read more of them considering that I love your characterisation for Luna. something to think about anyway! I love Parvati taking centre stage for a brief moment while gossiping about Cho to the others.

I thought the change of POV worked quite well. I think you did Harry justice tbh. he is still sassy as ever which you captured. I like the emotional intensity of the character. Harry is obviously feeling quite strongly about this baby being treated well. I thought another thing which you really did well was add some lighter moments into the piece. I thought Ron's comment about cho's parents being tornadoes fans was inspired and brilliant call back to the books. Just hilariously timed and silly. There is so much to love about this story!

Author's Response:

Is it a crisis? Is it a gossip session?  Why, it's both, of course!

I'll admit that I threw Luna/Parvati together as a couple as a throwaway thing, but I really enjoyed the little bit of interaction we got to have with them.  Maybe I'll come back to that someday.

I'm glad you're a fellow supporter of #sassyharry and think I did his perspective justice!  Until I came to this chapter, I'd never really planned to write anything from it.

Thanks for the kind comments, I'm glad you're enjoying everything so far! :)

Hello again, I'm back to leave a review for the Frost Kittens.

Wow. Just wow. Once again this went in a totally different direction than what I was expecting. I'm still a bit confused on why Dudley and Cho sleeping together and being pregnant warrants a crisis meeting but I guess it makes a little sense considering who Dudley's parents are.

I wasn't expecting the story to take this path so quickly so great job on the plot twist :D

I love how Harry is in this chapter, from being annoyed to see his living room full of people on a Sunday morning to being so determined to help them is so in character for him, it's going to be interesting to see how he handles the stress of helping Dudley and Cho on top of his impending fatherhood. (I'm also looking forward to seeing how the rest of the gang is going to react once that news comes out)

Another great job!!!! I can't wait to read more I'm fully invested in this story now and I love you for it <3

Peace, Love, and Tacos

Author's Response:

Is it a crisis, or is it a really good gossip session?  Is there, in fact, a difference?

I had so much fun writing Harry's perspective!  Glad you're enjoying some of the more unusual places the story goes :)

i'm hereee :D

okay first i can't believe they all deicded to have an emergency meeting because cho got pregnant with dudley's kid but like, at first i lol'd at the idea and then the fact that they all seemed like they just wanted to hang out (despite harry's very valid annoyances and thoughts at the start of the chapter which also made me laugh because i can just imagine him wanting some of his own space for all the reasons he mentioned, obviously)

but then the ending had me in my feels and uhh harry's reasoning and fear are so damn tangible and i can't believe i didn't think that far enough (i think i was a lil shocked that cho got unexpectedly pregnant so fast and that threw me for a loop, but ayyyy how significant dudley allowing someone to cast a spell on him seems now!!) but ughhh he's so right, the dursleys would be the worst grandparents to a magical kid. i mean i can hope they'd come to their senses, or at least, maybe petunia but uhhhhh it doesn't seem likely because they abused harry during all the time he was there :||||

i can't wait to see what happens next!

Author's Response:

Thank you so much!

I actually had a similar process writing the chapter - I started with it all being a bit of a joke and slowly as I wrote, and thought about it, and came back to the fic after a three year break in writing (lol) I realised it needed to have that other tone in there too to really make it work.

In some ways, that moment's kind of the turning point of the whole fic - in terms of how I approached it, anyway.  Don't worry, there's still plenty of funny stuff on the way!  But it made me really stop and think about how this would play out.
