When I was young
There was a beautiful boy and
There was a beautiful girl
I often wondered how
I found the curl of her hair
His muscles, taught under tan skin
Distracting in the sunlight
Could so gently pull
Laughter from within like
A flower from the earth
Both
Her fire and fragility
His calm and strength
Overrun my senses
Intoxicating in the extreme
Until I am-
I am nothing but a waste
Lost in the curve of her waist
Stuck in the angles of his jaw
Nothing less than amazed
By him
By her
By the beauty
