All the familiar sounds of a bubble tea shop surround them: the whirring of the busy machines, the soft rattle of looseleaf tea getting shaken from its jar, the cheerful pops as fat straws pierce the adorably decorated plastic sealing the drink.

The two young college students sit in the corner at a small square wooden table. They are a little awkward—they open their mouths to speak at the same time, and even before a sound has been uttered they both gesture at the other to continue. Then they laugh, a peachy flush ripening their cheeks. A cup of jasmine green bubble tea sits between them, untouched.

One bravely takes the first sip, closing their lips around the straw and trying their very hardest not to steal too many bubbles at once. They shyly offer the drink to their date, who smiles and seals the indirect kiss by taking a sip of their own.
