Hello and welcome to FFT! We're so happy to have you!
We'd like to give new members a quick tour of our site! Before being able to post anything visible to other members, you need to be fully validated by our staff. To do so, please start at the Welcome to FanficTalk+ thread and read our rules and guidelines+. After you confirm that you've read them and agree, a staff member will validate your post and you'll be free to post across the forum. Once you do, we'd love for you to introduce you
One hallmark of any Black History Month is getting a reading list. More important than a reading list is knowing what people have thought of books or if they are planning to read any on a given list so:
Here is a list transcribed from Essential Black Authors to Read | The Daily Show. I'd love to know which people have read or are planning to read from this list or from any list on Black History Month.

How do I contribute to the rec section?
To contribute, you'll need to start your own rec blog by going to "Create Blog" and then selecting whatever category you want to make recs in. If you want to recommend something that doesn't have its own subcategory yet or just want to keep everything within one blog, you can just select the broader "Recommendations" category.
How do I search for fics I want?
You can click a tag directly in a rec, or you can go to +this link. Typ
I'm a bit late posting this because I got distracted this week, but here it is - I'm blogging about another of this year's Golden Ink award winners:
Mel calls this a collection of drabbles or flash fiction, but each seems more substantial than that to me. I’d say they’re more vignettes, but then I have an ancient vocabulary making me nearly incomprehensible to modern readers so there you have it. Whatever the hell you call Days That End in Y, the collection taken as a whole is surely a sp
We’re back to celebrate another Golden Ink Winner 🪄✨
Congratulations to @Aphoride for winning BEST DESCRIPTION with pink porcelain!! 🍵
picspam by @Darling_take_off_the_mask
Following The Untamed fandom, pink porcelain reveals the relationship between Jiang Yanli and Jin Zixuan, from their most significant moments to the least significant. With Laura’s writing, you don’t need to be familiar with the fandom at all. All you need to know is that it’s two people, falling in and out

2024 Inky Winner - Best Dialogue
by blood, by blackballet
by blood by blackballet... Try saying that three times fast!
The actual dialogue of by blood rolls off the tongue much more naturally, and that's what we're here to cheer about. It's hardly surprising - @blackballet is a fantastic wordsmith, and it seems like I manage to find some remarkable turn of phrase in every single chapter. And Cat's writing style demonstrates how well she grasps that the

After a successful round of review tag festivities, I thought it would be fun to share some statistics and announce the winner in a blog post. I hope everyone had a great October and Halloween if you celebrate

Congratulations to @GotNoJamsss for winning BEST ONE-SHOT with Friends Don’t!!
picspam by @ineffable_season
This one-shot belongs to Jacquelin’s Call It What You Want To series. Beautifully written with chemistry that sparks from the very first scene, it follows Lily and Scorpius, and one of the many nights they spend hanging out together. Not only have they been friends themselves, but Scorpius is Albus’ best fr
We’re back to celebrate a very special story! ✨
A deserving winner of two categories in last years inkys:
Best Angst & Best Supporting Character ✒️✨
Lying Josephine is an exciting project that @WriteYourHeartOut has picked up again last year with the aim of finishing it for her husband and the original fanboy, Fin. While the project still has a bit to add, we’ve been thrilled by the new additions to this beautiful long term project.

Welcome back for another Golden Ink winner spotlight!
Writers are forever finding new, creative ways to tell a story -- through letters, diary entries, or in more modern times text message and social media format. Unexpected narrative styles make for fresh, fun storytelling, like that in this year's winner for Most Creative Story:

Hello everyone, and welcome to the final bulletin for camp FFT
For those who may have missed it, last month your activity coordinators hosted Camp FFT. Members signed up to be placed into cabins and cabins worked together to complete activities across two rounds of BINGO cards. Activities ranged everywhere from reviewing a new to you author, participating in drabble tag, or leaving comments in someone else's WJ. The goal of this activity was to have fun and bring some old forum topics back
I’m here at last to shine a light on 2024’s Golden Ink Award winner for Best Page Turner: The Outsider by @Pixileanin.
Pix is one of those writers who, when you read her work, makes you want to be a better writer. This story, despite her insistence that it’s a dumpster fire, is a prime example of that.
First of all, if you can’t stand the idea of Hermione falling for Draco (or vice versa), this is the Dramione tale for you! Poor Hermione has met with the worst possible fate (or so it

And we're back to celebrate another one of our Golden Ink Award Winners! ✨
This week, we're focusing on blue skies by @Archer Rose, which has won not one, but two categories: Best Slowburn Romance AND Favorite Lead Character
This story follows Lavender Brown and is part of the Jasmine & Tea Leaves universe but can be read separately.
After the war in the Wizarding World, Lavender moves to Paris where she hopes to start over and leave the scars of not ju
PAPER RINGS
I’m excited to highlight another winner from our golden ink's 2024 awards.
The very deserving story to cover this month is Paper Rings which was the winner of best short story. ❤️
What people are saying about ‘Paper Rings’ - A funny, charming, and original story that follows Ron and Hermione into the "future". The epilogue brings you back through the story through a new lens, and I just love how complete it makes this novelette feel in the end

Welcome to the first in a series of blog posts highlighting the winners of this year’s Golden Ink Awards! ?
We begin with the fic that won Best Slow Burn Romance - and you know it’s a slow burn, because 27 chapters in, the two leads can still barely stand to be in the same room as one another (and it’s been a heck of a journey just getting them into the same room in the first place!) But we know they belong together because they were SO good together before.
I speak, of course, of Al P
