RESULTS - The Dramione Challenge
stunning Dramione pic spam by @you-make-me-wander that I will find excuses to use for everything from now until forever
I am so incredibly thrilled to be able to announce the results of the first challenge I've hosted on HPFT! I'm so sorry for the delay, but I'm so thankful for your patience. Hosting this was so fun, and I could never have anticipated the wonderful enthusiasm from you all! Thank you so much to everyone who took the time to enter, even if you didn't end up finishing before the deadline. Absolutely let me know if you do get around to posting anything Dramione-related. I would lovelovelove to read and review for you. So, without further ado, let's get down to it!
The Challenge
As a reminder, the Dramione Challenge posited a fairly simple premise: to write a believable pairing between Draco and Hermione. It had to focus on Draco and Hermione's relationship and couldn't be pre-written. But other than that, I accepted any era, genre (except parody), length, and story type.
The Entries
I received eight entries for the challenge:
- In A World So Cold by @WindingArrow
- The Philosophy of Love by @Elena
- The Snake and the Lion: Tales of a Forbidden Love by @DanyFire
- Coriaceous by @Rumpelstiltskin
- The Wedding by @MadiMalfoy
- Our Little Secret by @Lacey Black
- Someone Old, Something New by @Chelts-rhj
- Weekend Fiancee by @juls
Thank you so much to everyone who took the time to enter! You all get beautiful awards for your participation, as well as a review on every chapter of your entry! (A couple of you are still waiting for some reviews, but they'll be there soon, I promise!)

The Results
After much reading and much deliberation, I was able to choose three incredible, amazing, very well-deserving winners! So, the results you've all been waiting for! As a reminder, our top three winners receive reviews on stories of their choice. And, drum-roll please:
In third place, winning 2 reviews, is:
[winner award to come]
The Philosophy of Love by @Elena
Elena has written an amazing Dramione slow burn. The friendship between Draco and Hermione is so solid and real that even non-Dramione fans will be cheering for them to realize their feelings for each other. Elena manages to show the canon characterizations we're familiar with while still writing her own versions of Draco and Hermione. I can't wait to read on.
In second place, winning 3 reviews, is:
[winner award to come]
Someone Old, Something New by @Chelts-rhj
Chelts has written an amazingly original old-age story set in a retirement community. As Draco comes to terms with his feelings for Hermione, he also has to accept that her dementia means that he may have to confess how he feels over and over again. The emotions throughout this story are captured so well, and the characterization is flawless.
And finally, in first place, winning 5 reviews, is:
[winner award to come]
In A World So Cold by @WindingArrow
This story is stunning. Liz has crafted a world that fits within canon, but brings so much more to the characters we know so well. The interview between Hermione and Draco is a beautiful way to show the parallels and differences between their past and their present. The emotions throughout are so raw, and the scenes Liz has created are pure perfection.
Thank you again to all of our amazing entrants! I'm so happy to see more Dramione stories on HPFT, and I hope you'll all continue to write for them in the future!
