the trapped together challenge | results

i hosted my third challenge on hpft this year, with a trope that’s near and dear to my heart: sticking two (or more) characters in an enclosed space for an extended period of time. i had a blast reading the entries for this, and had a really hard time judging the winners. truthfully, there was a time when i thought y’all could just tie, but that seemed to defeat the purpose of the challenge.
anyway, if you’re not familiar with the challenge, here’s a brief recap of the details:
Quotewho doesn’t love reading fics where two people are forced to share an enclosed space for a certain amount of time? i know i do!
so i want you to flood the archives with them. there’s a lot of room for creativity with this challenge; it can be two characters stuck together, a group of friends or strangers, a family -- whatever you like. the only rule is that they’re trapped together somewhere and can’t leave on their own; maybe their friends are tired of the ‘will they/won’t they’ and set them up in a broom closet; or they’re seeking shelter in a horrible storm, or whatever. let your imagination run wild. give me the sexual tension, the heartbreak, the pining -- whatever you’ve got.
i had four incredible entries, which were as follows:
you’re high enough for me by @down-in-flames
expeditionary storms by @magemadi
simple minds by @RonsGirlFriday
this, a sprained ankle, and you by @ImaRavenclaw
so without further ado, let's get to the winners!
3rd place
expeditionary storms by @magemadi
my favorite thing about this fic is how madi really showcases murphy and raven’s relationship -- how they’ve grown comfortable around each other until the last scene feels inevitable, but not rushed and in an unexpected place
what you win: 2 additional reviews on stories of your choice, prize graphic
2nd place
you’re high enough for me by @down-in-flames
honestly, what’s not to love about a jily au from taylor? my favorite thing in this fic was lily’s confidence and the easy banter between her and james. and the kiss was just… :chef’s kiss:
what you win: 3 additional reviews on stories of your choice, prize graphic
and before we get to the winner, i do want to point out a fic here:
honorable mention
this, a sprained ankle, and you by @ImaRavenclaw
this was just a fun fic to read, and i loved how lily thought of reasons for why albus and scorpius would be stuck in the woods when they’re wizards. and there were some really soft, romantic aspects to the fic which were also really well done
what you win: prize graphic
and the winner is….
1st place
simple minds by @RonsGirlFriday
my favorite thing about this fic -- from start to finish -- was how creative it was and how melanie flawlessly incorporated 90s references into this breakfast club au. the nostalgia, the characterization, everything was so well done and it was just a really fun fic to read.
what you win: 4 additional reviews on stories of your choice, prize graphic, eternal glory
