the make maraudertimes swoon challenge results!!

hello hello! it has been way too long since the make maraudertimes swoon challenge ended but i am here to finally announce the winners!!! but first: what was the challenge about? well, the name says it all - participants had to do their best to make me swoon! fluff, angst, genres were open for the taking, the only rules being romance had to be one of the genres, there had to be a kiss, and the couple had to be together by the end of the fic (so i didn't cry too much  ) i had a ton of entries (i'm using this as my excuse for being so delayed...), so without further ado, here is the round up!

if you're counting at home, that is indeed 17 entries, with a few reaching over 7500 words, and one over 20K so I definitely had my work set out for me! if you'd like some stats regarding word counts, genres, eras, etc., i'll be doing a breakdown after the results, but since that's what everyone is here for, let's get right into it! (oh and also if any of the entrants would like to add their story to my series +here, feel free to!  )

Now for some breakdown stats! I'll be looking at genres, word counts, ships, and eras!

Genres

There were 8 other genres these stories were tagged with (not including general, as that is a whole can of worms to categorize so i just didn't  ). The most prevalent was (unsurprisingly) fluff! 7 of the 17 stories were also tagged with fulff, so about 50% of them! Of course, since this was the swoon challenge, that was a bit expected... The next most popular genres were humor, angst, and au, with 5 stories tagged for each! 

Word Counts

Now the entries for this challenge had word counts that varied wildly! The shortest was 1351 words while the longest was 23161! The mean/average word count was about 5713 words, while the median was 3414 words! Of course, there were very long fics which definitely skewed the mean there, so the median is definitely a better indication of the lengths of the fics.

Ships

Much like word counts, ships varied wildly! In fact, only two people wrote the same ship (not counting when one participant wrote the same ship twice). And considering there were only a few OC fics, this is pretty interesting! In fact, quite a few characters were written in different ships: victoire weasley; draco malfoy; hermione granger; teddy lupin; molly weasley ii; james potter; harry potter. Just goes to show that everyone's got different ways to float their boat! (pun intended!)

Eras

Funnily enough, eras was the least varied in terms of everything I looked into! By far the most popular was NextGen with 8 fics! Then we had Rebuilding with 3 fics, then First Wizarding War, and Between Wars getting 1 fic each, while no specified era caught the remaining 4 fics. As a NextGen lover, I have no complaints here
