the main character is a dark-haired part veela named freya (#notallveelasareblonde) who is Not Impressed By You in the best possible way and who has some lowkey self-destructive tendencies, and she is an amazing character to be in the head of. She first hooks up with quidditch star oliver wood at the beginning of the fic, and their whatever-it-is is... not always filled with the best communication ever? but the way kris writes them really conveys so much just raw chemistry that it's really, really easy to understand how they would just keep coming together again and again even when they've hurt each other or tried to shut the other out. a fair amount of that "maybe this isn't good for me but fuck it" sex is in places that are probably not good ideas if we're speaking objectively but also fuck objectivity, if they want to fuck in a night club or an alley they are entitled to do so. kris's description is also so fucking darkly beautiful and vivid - there's nothing about this that i don't love.

if you're not comfortable with substance use, explicit sex, and star-crossed romance full of conflict, this is definitely not the fic for you. if you are, oh my fucking god go binge it immediately.
