i legit can't tell you how damnably fluffy this original fic is and how seriously jealous makes me of the familial relationship(s) depicted in it. the story is told from the poc of liliana, whose friend's aisha's (later girlfriend's) grandmother, nanny is the grandmother we'd all love to have. she loves to cook for her family and cooking and feeding them is an act of love. she also loves liliana and embraces her as part of the family from the time lilana and aisha were little. there's no judgement, just acceptance and love and the feelings simply pour out of the screen and for me, they were overwhelming in a good way. everyone is so freaking cute in this story, but they also feel like real people, like you're reading it but at the same time standing together with lilana in nanny's kitchen, trying to learn what she's teaching. jade does a magnificent job with descriptions in this and i love love love it. and in the end what also made me laugh was the fact that lilana and aisha became older and as they did they also became a lil more and more like nanny. there are all these details interwoven in the story that you'll just find so lifelike and amazing. it's relatively short but tells so much and is so pure. (and some croatian grandmothers are absurdly similar to asian grandmothers. just sayin').
