THIS. THIS WHOLE THING. i mean this whole series but also THIS! i don't know if it’s the way abbi used colour through the fic to immerse you in lavender’s mood and mental state or the dreery relatability if life just going a little bit grey, but it touches a note in the most heartbreaking way. we’re seeing lavender in her post-parvati world, hating herself for letting her go and also feeling almost undeserving of the love she had, which in itself is gut wrenching and that’s just in the opening. we travel around paris with lavender, seeing the favourite spots in what has become her home, her oasis away from the world and the war. abbi explores her relationship with seamus and how he brings some colour back to her, some laughter and a sense of light, even in the form of a flying pastry (which is just a waist of a pastry if you ask me because they're in paris?!). he starts to break down her barriers, takes her a little bit back towards the magical world. and lav does so much for herself, she starts to feel the world around her again, it’s so wonderfully written and abbi just tugs at the heart strings with every new scene. it’s not happy, not really, but it has the promise of being happy in the not so distant future. a future that will be written soon……………… abbi? yes?
