everyone loves a good romance. everyone also loves a good mystery. everyone also loves a good spy caper. this story is all three in one go and it works so unbelievably perfectly. andromeda black is a spy, working in secret for the Order; ted tonks is her handler, assigned to feed back the information she gets to the Order. cue fireworks. it's not love at first sight, it's a slow, gentle tumble and then a graceless crash at the end it's thrilling and addictive - you won't be able to stop reading until you get to the end - and it's a real whirlwind of a story, dragging you bodily into this murky, gritty-romantic world headfirst.
the writing is fantastic: it's rich and lush and so incredibly beautifully descriptive, full of detail so that there's more of discover on a second or third or even fourth reading. it's won awards, it's been sitewide story of the month - and there's a reason for that. the reason is that it's just so overwhelmingly gorgeous.
