What are you currently reading (fic or otherwise)?
So one nice thing is that since opening my review thread, I've been reading a lot of great fics. I just recently read a new chapter of +and all the pieces fall by @down-in-flames and +shenanigans by @abhorsen plague doctor. and +memory dust by @shadowycorner just to name a few!
Book-wise, I'm reading Written in the Stars by Alexandria Bellefleur. It's a really cute women loving women romcom filled with fake dating, callbacks to Pride and Prejudice (I mean, the characters are named Darcy and Elle), and so many other tropes in the backdrop of Seattle. I'm almost halfway and definitely recommend it if that's your sort of thing But if you read Red, White, and Royal Blue, you'll probably love this too.
What are you currently writing?
I'm currently writing +cruel summer, which is a sequel to the one-shot, +nights like these. It follows Emma and Murphy as they return to the beach for their fourth summer and have to deal with everything that's changed between them since the last time we saw them.
What are you currently watching?
Currently (re)watching Dawson's Creek! And swooning over Pacey Witter, don't mind me I'm also watching New Girl since I never actually finished it and I like to have a 40 minute drama and a 20 minute comedy to choose from.
Where do you hang out on the forums a lot right now?
As a mod, I'm pretty much everywhere a lot But I've especially been hanging around my review thread and the camp nano subforum!
April's members of the month are the bright and lovely @frogballet and @frogberry_cordelia!

What are you currently reading (fic or otherwise)?
I am currently re-reading Leigh Bardugo’s Shadow and Bone trilogy in preparation for the Netlifx series! I also bought a new book (of course) called The Lightkeepers by Abby Geni, and I can’t wait for it!
What are you currently writing?
I am finishing rozar by June, optimistically, but also am spending a lot of time on For Gold. So, a mystery novel and a sports(?) novella I am also working on my indulgent stranger things spin-off.
What are you currently watching?
I have been watching Survivor like it’s about to disappear from this universe. As in, I have watched the first five and a half seasons in about three weeks Also have a standing Friday date to watch TFATWS, which is just fantastic.
Where do you hang out on the forums a lot right now?
After the guerilla tag, I spent some time curating my nano nest to really display the amount of chaos that exists in my writing brain. I also enjoy reading other nests and leaving some questions, which I hope to get back to this weekend!

What are you currently reading (fic or otherwise)?
Well, I just finished A Pho Love Story by Loan Le and I loved it! Would recommend for fluff and Southeast Asian rep. So yeah, I've been reading that I've actually been reading a lot of contemp romance these days lol. I guess I need something lighter considering *vaguely gesturing at the world around us*
What are you currently writing?
Uhhh....hahaha...well I'm trying to work on damned if i glissando, a story about revamping Hogwart's music program, but I've been really busy and I have English right now so I suspect I'll be writing a lot of essays lmao
What are you currently watching?
Ok so this is a little obscure but I'm binge rewatching this Canadian show called The Next Step with my friend, specifically the third season (which I think is the best season and I will not be tried on that opinion). It's kind of hilarious to go back and just realize how wild the show really was. Oh, and Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
Where do you hang out on the forums a lot right now?
Ahaha...I am too often away from the forums right now, but I do check the recommendations every once in a while for a good read!
The Story of the Month for April is you are a minute of quiet (in a loud, loud world) by @shadowycorner!

What was the inspiration for the title of this story?
the title itself i saw one time on an instagram post and it inspired part of this story because molly is running away from grief, she has a lot of feelings and voices in her head constantly, and the only place she can find a bit of quiet, a bit of peace, is in the wild, and maybe with the right person, too
What three songs would you put on a soundtrack for this fic?
Dance of the Druids from the Outlander soundtrack, Jenny of Oldstones by Florence and the Machine, Seeds by Ayla Nereo
If this fic were to be made into a movie, who would you want directing it?
This is such a brilliant question but I have very little knowledge of directors to answer it properly I'm going to say either Peter Jackson in his LotR phase because the cinematography is stunning, or Alfonso Cuaron, I actually really liked the visual style of PoA
Your stories always have such an epic feel -- a journey, a mystery, an adventure -- What is another character you'd love to give an epic story?
Dorcas Meadows
It's Camp NaNo this month! Stop by some NaNo Nests to see how everyone's WIP's are coming along.
@victoria_anne has recently had a spot open up in her beta thread!
@kuusi pollywog is coordinating a Discord film screening schedule for those interested in watching films centering on BIPOC experiences and creative expression.
Did you all know there's a thread on the forums to give unreviewed stories some love? Drop a link to a story that's been on the archives more than two weeks (your own or someone else's) and hasn't been reviewed yet, and pay it back (or pay it forward) by reviewing other stories linked in that thread! (But leaving a link doesn't mean you have to leave a review, and vice versa.)
For example, Melanie is dropping a link in that thread to Bygones by @Jo Raskoph, a trope-stew one-shot about Pansy Parkinson posted to the archives this February!
It's House awards season, so check out your common rooms! Gryffindor are having a mini review fest in preparation for the POGs; Slytherin are currently voting on awards categories and names; nominations are already underway for Hufflepuff Golden Chalices; and voting is open for the Nargles in Ravenclaw Tower!
And speaking of awards, be sure to get your votes in for May's sitewide Story of the Month by April 25th!
