i want to be the person who consistently reads and reviews fics i love but rl/time is always an issue so here's an overview of my current faves in the hopes other people might enjoy them as well.

(yes, this is also me shamelessly hoping the wips among these get updated soon but no pressure friends, i know writing is hard).

also, i've already rec'd some of these very loudly but i mean i love them so much so they're here as well with links to my previous recs.

@kuusi palaa | +ap

• +a place not far from here | abby is a master at writing mystery and apnffh is a brilliant example of that. abby's characters are compelling, especially the main character - amelia fortescue - who is the type of character you can't help but root for even though you're always unsure of their true intentions, her plot is super intriguing and i couldn't not keep clicking 'next chapter'. it's just literally one of my favourite stories on the archives and i'm excited to read more
• +certain peril | based on safety not guaranteed it's like... super cool and every character we meet is so layered and ughhh so real and just relatable and i love them all and i love this story and want more
• +the color of violets | noir written by abby is like ????? masterpiece??? her words?? perfection?? description...amazing. you can see i have zero coherent words except i love it.

• +this calls for a toast, so pour the champagne | +rec | you all knew this was going to be here, right? it's such a good story, dudley and cho are amazing, their banter and flirting and humour and everything makes me smile and if you need a pick-me-up-feel-good story this right here is for you pls read it you won't regret it
• +dungeons, dragons & dumbledore's army | i spilled my coffee while reading this. i cackled. i ...it's genius and humorous and funny and all the best things

• +high stakes | i love this heist story. i love cas king. i love his ragtag group of thieves. i love everything about this.
• +pomegranate seeds | +rec | another feel-good-super-amazing-fluff-makes-my-cold-lil-heart-warm story that deserves all the best things in the world

• +rozar | i feel like catherine really has a knack for writing deliciously creative stories with unexpected takes on characters and plots that when you read the summary you can't not read the story and rozar is definitely one of those. it's got rich family intrigue and drama and snarky untrusting rose weasley and like...it's great

• +periphery | the sirius/oc story i binged like an addict while it broke my heart in new ways with each chapter. i feel like that says enough about it but chloe, sirius and marlene will have you at drama and romance and war and.....ugh. i love it.

• +iris albicans | i'm only at the start of this story and like...you can't help but fall in love with iris and remus and their relationship and that nostalgic feel you get when you read about a kid going to hogwarts for the first time, it just warms my lil' heart. and iris is such a brilliant character. and there's secrets and it's so so so well written i love it so much
• +notes from the ravenclaw bulletin board 2: hbp edition | +rec | i mean i raged all over the forums and the discord and everywhere about notes and i love the humour that goes into this story (and it's predecessor) and i can't get enough of it and probably never will

• +the fifth house | i adored reading this during the reviewing event. the cast of characters is filled with outsiders that then form a found family group of friends, the plot is amazing, and the setting in an american magical school is different from hogwarts and maintains its original identity. i'm very excited to read the next book in the series - the prophecy - because i have no doubt it's also amazing

• +six impossible things | +rec | i just want more rona and louis okayyyyyyy. rona is recovering from being not-okay and louis will be there and there's also going to be delicious drama and i love it

• +mirrored-silver | laura just recently posted this amazing story for which i've been excited about since the first time she mentioned that she might write a dark fairy tale-esque story featuring grindelwald and voldy and bathilda and the marauders and the first chapter is mesmerizing and addictive and it made me feel so many things because it's brilliantly written, it's gorgeously written, it makes you feel lost in the forest and dazed by grindelwald and there's already so many things left unsaid and so many secrets i need more of this pls

• +you are a minute of quiet (in a loud loud world) | +rec | molly as a dragon rider running off like a wildling girl and arthur being tasked with finding her with a snarky old man. and there's dragons. and it's amazing and each chapter is filled with so much feeling and chemistry and adventure and longing and wanderlust idk even how to describe it

• +cruel summer | okay so i'm not even a fan of the 100 and i still love this story and emma rhodes and john murphy as jill writes them in general. they're two stubborn and prideful and hurt idiots in love and she writes their angst brilliantly in cruel summer and like you can't help yourself but root for them to get together, possibly want to slap them so they realise they still love each other and all that good stuff

• +planetary boundaries | omg madi left this on a huuge cliffhanger and my review on the last posted chapter is basically all caps and i cant' get enough of this sci fi screenplay madi managed to weave such an intriguing story throughout the screenplay which i feel like is really really hard to do but she did it brilliantly and i need more

• +innuendo | a story about a witch who comes over (back) to london from el salvador and joins the magical law enforcement after being a cop (or well......something like it) in el salvador. but her past is kinda murky and there's intrigue and it's just such a different story to anything i've read. i started reading it during the reviewing event and i got hooked so i'm hoping to get some time to properly continue reading it soon but i definitely rec it to everyone
