applications for all staff and house newsletter editor positions will be open until july 10. all staff positions require there's no post count/join date limit, and you can apply for as many positions as you like - it's all on one application. a detailed rundown on how site staffing works can be found +here, and you can find the application +here.

if you applied in april or june, you don't need to apply again unless you'd like to apply for additional positions or change your answers - we'll still consider you this month. 

we're sorry to say that @victoria_anne will bet stepping down from her position as archive validator and event coordinator. thank you so much for all your hard work, bianca!

july's nano café has opened +here!

our software update has finally given us the ability to award badges again! it's a different system from the one we've had in the past, but tl;dr: you get points for doing stuff on the forums, which determines the rank that appears on your avatar (points breakdown +here) and gives you specific badges. they're generally automatically awarded, but if the badge type is new, it'll act a little weird. your friendly neighborhood branwen is still playing with it, and will probably set it to recalculate when she's done.

as you may have noticed, a few things have been slipping through the cracks in the past few months (particularly the work on inclusion and the results from this year's review event). we're very sorry for that; many members of our team have been stretched thin with rl stuff, and even where we have the time, we haven't necessarily had the mental energy. we've been discussing what's feasible given our resources and how we can reshuffle things to make sure that we're using that limited time and energy well, and we'll have some answers to anon feedbacks + some requests for your feedback in the next couple weeks. thank you for your patience - we really appreciate it.

this month's member of the month is @PinsandKneazles! between all their posts encouraging other members, talking about their own writing experience, and just generally reaching out to be friendly to others, it's been wonderful to have meera back!
