rozar by blackballet

if you want to dive into a mystery about a weird death in a rich and dysfunctional family where all the characters are different types of dysfunctional aka fucked up in the best possible ways (i mean......for storytelling purposes) then rozar is an a++++ story for you. it's got rose weasley as a private detective looking into the death of her ex, abel geronimo, with the help of scorpius malfoy who is also sortof her ex but not really, just a one time thing but like he's been lusting after her so
what i love most about this story, besides the mystery which is super intriguing (also involves hermione at her not-best-self), is the character of rose -- catherine has managed to kinda blend in her character both the private detective type from noir and the femme fatale type and it's a wicked blend for character development and originality that you can't really get enough of rose. you never really know her motives, she hides stuff from everyone, including the people who help her, and idk, honestly, i never know where i stand with her and i love that ambiguity and the way catherine managed to write her in such a perfect way!
scorpius is a lil tortured soul with whom i can relate all too often and my poor lil heart goes out for him. he and rose are terrible for each other but also i like them together so that's a specific brand of toxic dysfunctional relationship that really fits my vibe and i looove it.
