Unfinished Sketches by sospes
Listen. There is a bi-Violet Bridgerton drabble in this collection (ch 14) that literally lives rent free in my head that I'm liable to grow broke from the length of time I've let it live there. Not only do we get an intriguing glimpse into Violet's past (pre-Edmund romance as well), but cheeky!Benedict is also in attendance. Their dynamic is also incredibly sweet in this piece.
Overall, the writing is so purposefully descriptive yet lovely and not at all utilitarian. It honestly feels like you could be watching this on the show.
The voices of Benedict and Violet are so on point. Like honestly, this author's dialogue thrives.
Not to mention the emotional depth of this piece. Yes, Violet loved a woman (named Adele) before she loved Edmund. But she never pined for Adele throughout her marriage to Edmund. She loved them both entirely, but in different ways. Which I think is SO important since loving Edmund entirely is a core part of who Violet is in the Bridgerton series. But this shows that she is more than her marriage to him. She is also more than her children, in this moment. And I absolutely adored this exploration of her character.
Anyway, this exists on ao3, so here is the link, if anyone is interested: Unfinished Sketches by sospes.
I should also mention that this author has a great deal of Benedict Bridgerton/Henry Granville fics as well and they are an absolute delight to read!
