I'm here to kick off my new recommendation blog with a fabulous poem by @Chelts-rhj
Title: Like the Weary (A)+
Author: Chelts-rhj
Genre: Drama, Romance
Story Type/Word Count: Poetry, 88 words
Content Warnings: None
Completed: Yes
Summary:
Quote"When I say I love him the way the weary love death..."
This poem totally blew me away. It lives in my head rent-free now. At 88 words, it's a compact piece of literature, but man does it pack a punch. I ADORED how Chelts-rhj wove together images that we often associate with negative things and feelings, and instead connected them to the overwhelming feeling of love. When Chelts talks about death in this poem, she's emphasizing the enormity of death. It's a superlative that has no equal, and because the speaker in the poem feels so deeply for their beloved, only something that superlative can explain how they are feeling. There's a finality to the poem--and yet an everlasting quality too. Death, like love, isn't the end in the poem, it's only the beginning.
