Congratulations - you’ve found your Mythology NEWT! Before taking this exam, you must have achieved the following:

• Pass in your Care of Magical Creatures OWL
  
• Pass in your Defense Against the Dark Arts OWL

Should you take this exam without doing so, your results on it will be voided and your house will lose points.

 

History is one thing, legends are another - and for wizards, they're often one and the same. Muggles write many of the creatures in their myths off as superstition or nightmares, but wizards know better.

 

This is one of your elective NEWTs, and taking it is purely optional. If you're ready to start it, you must post in this thread prior to making any of the posts/reviews/stories it requires. Be aware that though you are free to begin this exam at any time, once you sit down your house cannot begin another exam until you’ve completed this one. Keep in mind that the higher your score, the more points you'll earn, and you may find that a higher mark is a prerequisite to moving onto another exam or area.

 

For this NEWT, you must prove that you know your mythology.

 

To receive an A-Acceptable:

• You must reblog two aesthetics or picspams on tumblr dealing with mythology.
  
• You must recommend one book dealing with mythology (including a non-fiction book, a retelling, or a classic) on the forums.
  
• You must get at least 70% on +this quiz or +this quiz. (Please provide a screenshot.)

 

To receive an E-Exceeds Expectations:

• You must reblog three aesthetics or picspams on tumblr dealing with mythology.
  
• You must recommend one book dealing with mythology (including a non-fiction book, a retelling, or a classic) on the forums.
  
• You must get at least 85% on +this quiz and +this quiz. (Please provide a screenshot.)
  

 

To receive an O-Outstanding:

• You must reblog four aesthetics or picspams on tumblr dealing with mythology.
  
• You must recommend one book dealing with mythology (including a non-fiction book, a retelling, or a classic) on the forums.
  
• You must get 100% on +this quiz and +this quiz. (Please provide a screenshot.)
