Bat Stitch Crazy
Hey Everyone! This month, we had a total of 8 nominations, Please choose one of the nominated stories for Story of the Month. Nominees please don't vote for yourself. This month's Nominees are: Title: Hope Author: Jo Raskoph Link(s) to story With Rating: (T) Why do you think this story deserves to be nominated?: I found this story when looking for a physical disability piece to review during the final exams, and it had a huge impression on me. (As you can imagine I was rushing with the reviews to get what was required, and still this story made me pause and think.) It is a Hannah/Neville from Hannah's perspective and it is about her wanting to have a child, and all the difficulties it poses to women when pregnancy doesn't come as it should. I cannot really say why it is so beautiful, but the way it described the problem deeply touched me. Title: Skewed Toward Truth Author: MuggleMaybe Link(s) to story With Rating: HPFT (M) Warnings (if applicable): Substance abuse Why do you think this story deserves to be nominated?: Renee wrote this during our final exams, and it is absolutely amazing. Renee never disappoints, but there was something about this self-discovery story that I fell in love with. Her descriptions are beautiful as always, and she writes a wonderful Alicia exploring her sexuality. Title: The Wild Princess Author: victoria_anne Link(s) to story With Rating: [M] Warnings (if applicable): Hate Speech, Sexual Content, Substance Abuse, Violence Why do you think this story deserves to be nominated?: Bianca has created such a rich and powerful fantasy world that is so well defined even in just two chapters so far. All of the characters feel so real and I found myself getting completely drawn in to every little detail. Title:Schrodinger's Cat Author: TidalDragon Link(s) to story With Rating: (T) Warnings (if applicable): None Why do you think this story deserves to be nominated?: This story has already received recognition (FROGS and Dobby award), but I think it's really so brilliant that everybody should read it! Title: The last thing on her mind Author: Dojh167 Link(s) to story With Rating: M Warnings (if applicable): Violence Why do you think this story deserves to be nominated?: This is a great story, although totally heartbreaking as well so be prepared! Sam does an amazing job of writing Lily, and showing us what things look like from her p.o.v! I loved it, and it's such an amazing story! Title:Harry Potter and the Shaggy Dog Author:pookha Link(s):hpft (M) Warnings (if applicable): Sexual Assault, Sexual Content, Slavery, Substance Abuse, Violence Why do you think this story deserves to be nominated?:From the start, I got excited after a long time since I read the excellent Auror's tale last time at hpft. The interrogating scene is terrific! I couldn't stop reading in breathless excitement. The last scene reminded me of Scottish fairy tale like "Tam Lin". It's scary but fantastic at the same time. You can enjoy many action scenes with full of mystery through HP fandom. Title: The Blue Ashwinder Author: Beeezie Link(s) to story With Rating: +here (T) Warnings (if applicable): violence Why do you think this story deserves to be nominated?: I was lucky enough to stumble upon this story during house cup shenanigans, and I LOVE it! Of course, I'm familiar with several of Branwen's Next Gen stories, and this is in that same universe, so it was extra fun with that context. But regardless, Scorpius has such a great and relatable personality in this. Branwen always captures this great balance between humor and sincerity that I love. It's just a great read all around and I would love to cheer her on to adding a new chapter. Title: Hermione's Totally Accidental Time-Travelling Mishap Author: MegGonagall Link(s) to story With Rating: Here (M) Warnings (if applicable): Substance Abuse Advisory Why do you think this story deserves to be nominated?: While this was originally written as as part of a parody challenge, what I've read so far is so well written that it doesn't read as a parody and if that fact wasn't stated at the beginning, I never would have known that's what the story is. You have until about Midnight GMT on July 26 to place your vote. Good luck to all the nominees.
