This month's nominees for Story of the Month are:

Title: Traitorous Hearts

Author: Penelope Inkwell

Link(s) to story With Rating: HPFT (M)

Warnings (if applicable): hate speech, self harm, sexual assault, sexual content, slavery, violence.

Why do you think this story deserves to be nominated?: I just recently re-discovered this story and it's incredible. It's from the perspective of Astoria Greengrass during the year the Carrows ruled Hogwarts, and the characterisation of Astoria is brilliant. I also really appreciate the way the story deals with everything that comes along with being a Slytherin during the second wizarding war. Beautiful descriptions and a well-thought-out, layered plot. It's brilliant and everyone should read it.

Title: Beyond Repair

Author: MuggleMaybe

Link(s) to story With Rating: T

Warnings (if applicable): N/A

Why do you think this story deserves to be nominated?: This is such a great fic that focuses on the relationship between Lily and Petunia. Renee manages to capture the complexity of the sister's relationship and shows that it wasn't as black and white as it can first seem. There is such an amazing range of stories all pieced together to show their relationship, it's such a great read!

Title: Parisian Scars
Author: Crimson Quill
Link(s) to story With Rating: (M)
Warnings (if applicable): Hate speech, self harm, suicide
Why do you think this story deserves to be nominated?: Lavender Brown is a character I never gave much thought to until this post-war fic of the girl who survived a werewolf attack. The emotions are so raw and this girl has to try to get beyond herself which is a struggle I feel like most people can relate to. Not only that, but it's extremely well written and the angst will tear at your heart. I won't lie, I teared up a bit!

Title: Unsteady

Author: dreamgazer220

Link(s) to story With Rating: HPFT [T]

Warnings (if applicable):  Sexual Content, Spoilers, Substance Abuse, Violence

Why do you think this story deserves to be nominated?: Jill has absolutely nailed the personalities, mannerisms, thoughts processes, etc of both Bellamy and Clarke with this fic. It's set after episode 3x07 which was a bit of a...slap in the face to fans of the show and Jill has taken that and turned it into a brilliant look at how Clarke and Bellamy should have reacted to all of the events leading up to this moment. It's so incredibly well written and manages to hit all the points that the show seemed to ignore.

Title: The Maiden on the Rocks

Author: nott theodore

Link(s) to story With Rating: HPFT (M)

Warnings (if applicable):  Domestic abuse, hate speech, violence

Why do you think this story deserves to be nominated?: Sian writes the most gorgeous stories period, but I want to bring your attention to this one because it really is so beautiful and will leave you a little bit teary. It's about Andromeda Tonks during the aftermath of the war, and raising Teddy on her own. It was written with the prompt of strong female characters, and Sian nails this perfectly.

Title:  Valour (M)

Author: :  Blackballet

Link(s) to story With Rating: Valour(M)

Warnings (if applicable): Domestic Abuse, Hate Speech, Sexual Assault, Substance Abuse & Violence

Why do you think this story deserves to be nominated?:  The secret to taking old, tired thing that’s been written a thousand times?  It’s not that you write it - it’s that you write it well.  Blackballet drafts and writes a Marauder fic with such a breath of fresh air that this gives life to a dead idea.  There is voice, reasoning, and style in this piece that you rarely get to see nowadays.  You have the story set at a pace that you feel there is life coming off the pages, reminiscent of JKR herself

Title: Caution: You Are Extremely Hot

Author: Banshee

Link(s) to story With Rating: +HPFT

Warnings (if applicable): sexual content, spoilers

Why do you think this story deserves to be nominated? This is a coffee shop AU version of Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda. Do I really need to say more than that? It's perfection, obviously. Julie writes as well as ever, which is to say, extremely well. She captures all the characters with great nuance and so much humor. I absolutely LOVED this fic! (That spoiler warning is real though, take care. ;))

Title: And Again

Author: nott theodore

Link(s) to story With Rating: HPFT (M)

Warnings (if applicable): hate speech, sexual content, substance abuse

Why do you think this story deserves to be nominated?: sian wrote this for june's prefect challenge and she put so much time, thought, and care into it. she really put in the effort to make sure this piece was respectful and realistic, and in my humble opinion she hit the nail on the head. and it came in first, so clearly others agree with me! ;) also, it's just a great story in general, just like everything else sian writes. it's fun and touching and engaging and i really enjoyed reading it!

Nominees please don't vote for yourself.

Voting will close on August 27th at Midnight GMT
