Guest Rumpelstiltskin Posted December 3, 2018 Posted December 3, 2018 January Story of the Month Nominations Happy New Year! How it works: This thread is for you to nominate your favorite stories to be recognized as the HPFT Story of the Month. Seconding isn't necessary, as all stories will move on to the voting round. All SotM Winners will also receive a cool prize! belgian quaffle Posted December 4, 2018 Posted December 4, 2018 Title: to dwell on dreamsAuthor: @Stella BlueLink to Story [& rating if Mature] : +clickWarnings [if applicable] : sexual content, violenceReason for Nomination: I truly cannot say enough about how amazed I am by this! It's incredible how Kristin manages to explore so many different aspects to relationships in such a short piece but everything still feels so complete. This story is incredibly beautiful and such a good exploration of love and friendship and grief and moving on!
Archer Rose Posted December 4, 2018 Posted December 4, 2018 Title: yitached yakum v'yiga'el Author: @facingthenorthwind Link to story: click Warnings: None Reason for nomination: this one-shot is so wonderful which educates on Jewish traditions. Emma has wonderfully crafted this story which shows hope for her characters in the darkest times which I think can be especially important at this time of year. A must read!
Diogenissa Posted December 4, 2018 Posted December 4, 2018 Title: The Ghost in the Attic Author: @juls Link to Story [& rating if Mature] : + May I introduce you to...+ (M) Warnings [if applicable] : Violence Reason for Nomination: This absolutely amazing story details the beginnings of a (perhaps) rather unlikely friendship between a young witch and a ghost. What I LOVED so much about this story is the originality behind it -- it's a ghost of a wizard with a very interesting back story, one I haven't seen amidst my travels through the HP FF realms. It's also very enjoyable and delightful and will warm your heart by the end!
Guest Rumpelstiltskin Posted December 4, 2018 Posted December 4, 2018 Title: You Are a Light Author: @RoxiMalfoyLink: +MatureWarnings: Domestic Abuse, Self Harm, Substance AbuseReason: This is an amazingly beautiful and monumentally sad testament to struggling to be the light for people who are being swallowed in darkness, trying to bring to them the happiness they deserve. It also calls into question -- who is fuelling the light that is being used for everyone else to find their way through the night? This is tremendously powerful and indescribably moving.
scooterbug8515 Posted December 5, 2018 Posted December 5, 2018 Title: I Hate Multicolored Days: A Day in the Mind of a Child With AutismAuthor: potionspartnerLink to Story [& rating if Mature] : here Warnings [if applicable] : Self-Harm, ViolenceReason for Nomination: This is a beautiful piece that wonderfully represents a person with Autism and the struggles that come with that not only for the narrator but also for the family. This is a story that can get you in the feelings for certain and is a wonderfully accurate depiction of Autism.
