CRISIS: Daily Prophet Editorial Gaining Traction

Well, we don’t want to say we told you so, but… well, we told you so. This morning, The Daily Prophet published a rather nasty editorial claiming that your candidate only seems to care about themselves. And well… it’s starting to gain traction. Your campaign teams need to do some damage control before this blows up in your faces - and what better way to do damage control by proving that editorial writer wrong?

To avert this crisis, your campaign team needs to post 10 fic recommendations across 10 different threads. Once you’ve done so, post the links to your 10 recommendations in your ‘House Cup Campaign Deliverables’ thread and tag @down-in-flames, @grumpy cat, and @belgian quaffle, and we’ll work our magic to make everyone forget this nasty story ever happened. For completing this task (and avoiding complete disaster), you’ll receive 200 points.

In addition to averting the crisis, your campaign can go above and beyond if they so choose, by writing recommendation blurbs (of at least 200 substantive characters) and picspams for three of the stories you've recommended. You’ll earn 50 additional points for this (they’re all or nothing - no partial credit here!) - however, no two campaign teams can do picspams for the same stories. Therefore, if you’d like to participate in this bonus activity, please claim them in advance by posting in this thread the three stories you’ll be creating picspam/blurb recommendations for.

YOU HAVE EXACTLY 48 HOURS TO COMPLETE THIS TASK. THE DEADLINE IS 3 JULY AT 4:12 PM EST.

@down-in-flames @grumpy cat @belgian quaffle Are we supposed to write the blurbs in the thread where we post the recommendation or just in the deliverables thread?

you have to first claim your three stories in this thread - the blurbs and the picspam need to be posted in the deliverables thread, not the recommendation thread.

you’ll need to write a ‘reason for recommendation’ in the thread like usual, but the blurb+picspam pair only need to be posted in the deliverables thread.

Just to make sure:

I'd like to recommend the three amazing Dramione stories that recently won my challenge in the Draco/Hermione thread in Ship Recommendations. This would only count as "one" recommendation though, correct? Since we need recs in 10 threads?

EDIT: ignore this; we figured it out. :)

we're also claiming "Oxygen" by badgerspride, and "Ninety-Two Seconds in Catatonia" by MuggleMaybe!

Are we allowed to give our pispams to the authors of the stories we're recommending? Or will they be saved till the end of this crisis management event?

i'm reiterating this as a reminder that you are required to write the reason for recommendation when you're posting in the recommendations threads. and since there's been some confusion over the 200 character minimum - it's at least 200 substantive characters, not words.

I misunderstood this and have already posted my reason for recommending in the recommendation thread. Can I put the new blurb in the edit/move/delete my post thread once I have written it, or do I need to choose a different story?

i think you misunderstood me now - you have to post both - the reason for recommending is one thing that's required when you're posting a recommendation in the recommendation thread. the blurb+picspam is for bonus points and is a separate thing posted in your deliverables thread, but it must be of one of the stories your house recommended.
