Potions Results and Discussion

Welcome to the most dreadful part of being a mad scientist -- writing about your experiment! As Jamie Hyneman and Adam Savage of Mythbusters fame once said:

Hopefully you've already started working on that mad scientist network of yours, but as any scientist knows, if you aren't working on multiple projects at once, are you even a mad scientist? 

Your task for this week is to write up brief reports on any of the four (4) topics listed below. 

• HP - Write about a potion creation going wrong
• HP - Write about an unlikely apprenticeship in the Wizarding World
• HP, Original Fiction - Write about the discovery of a deadly new species
• Original Fiction - Write about an awards ceremony for a scientific achievement that ends up being disastrously evil

There are some guidelines you must follow with these reports -- otherwise how can we judge who's got the craziest scientific ideas?

• Must be posted to the HPFT Archive
• Five hundred (500) words maximum -- with a fifty (50) word allowance for the archive counter
• Maximum of two (2) submissions per member -- no limit on overall House submissions (minimum of one per House)
• No pre-written pieces
• No collaborations
• Must put which prompt you used somewhere in the story/chapter summary
• Post the link to the story (validated or not) in this thread by the deadline, and PM a Prefect once validated if after this task closes

Points Breakdown: 

• Points per Entry - 5 points
• Quality Points
  • 1st Place - 60 points
  • 2nd Place - 45 points
  • 3rd Place - 30 points
  • 4th Place - 15 points

is there a minimum word count requirement? as for quality points - do we choose quality submissions or are you going to consider everything submitted?

The minimum wordcount is just the archive minimum (100 words).

We will be considering everything submitted for QP.
