Gryffin_Duck Posted October 29, 2019 Posted October 29, 2019 The title is tentative, but I'm really excited about my plot this year! My MC, Arie, started out as a character I'm currently playing in a D&D campaign (and by far my favorite of the characters I've played). This is my first year writing fantasy for NaNo. Into the Night In a city where magic permeates its every aspect - its buildings, its citizens, its very core - Arie Siannodel stands out. Born without magic, and legs and hands that don’t cooperate, Arie has spent her life fighting to prove her worth. Unable to apprentice at her family’s shop, Arie is determined to forge her own path, by applying to the Imperium Guard, Sahlion’s highly regarded army. Ifer Miralar has always been a fighter. Training since he was five years old, Ifer applied to the Imperium Guard on his 18th birthday. Within two months, he demonstrated himself one of the most talented young recruits Sahlion had ever seen. His brother, Elwin Miralar, was never a fighter. Small and scrawny compared to his brother, Elwin preferred to use his magic for art. Against his parents’ wishes, Elwin applies for an apprenticeship at a woodcarving shop. When Arie’s application to the Imperium Guard creates a stir in not only the Imperium Guard, but Sahlion itself, Arie is forced to face the fears she had long since buried. Iefr must decide where his loyalties truly lie. Elwin must decide what, if anything, is worth fighting for. And all three must figure out how far they are willing to go, not only for themselves, but for each other. Pronunciations: Sahlion -- Sah-lee-own Siannodel -- See-ann-uh-dell Ifer -- Ee-fur Miralar -- Meer-uh-lahr
800 words of heaven Posted November 7, 2019 Posted November 7, 2019 OMG IS THIS A D&D INSPIRED STORY? I know you said your main character is, but how much of the rest of the story is, too? What are your inspirations and sources for your fantasy world?
