RonsGirlFriday's reviews

I'd like to spread some love and discover new fics! If you're looking for con crit, I can do that, and that includes reviewing for technical skills, if that's your concern. That said, I'm overwhelmingly positive in my reviews because your work is your baby and life is hard enough without being stressed out over something that's supposed to be fun. If you don't have any particular areas of concern and generally want someone to read your fic and leave some squees and words of encouragement, I'm here for you.

  • A non-exhaustive list of fandoms I'm familiar with (not necessarily in depth): Austen novels, Bridgerton, Disney, Downton Abbey, Firefly, Game of Thrones, Harry Potter, LOTR, MCU, North and South, Percy Jackson Sanditon, Star Wars, X-Files

  • I'm happy to read fics in other fandoms if they read well fandom-blind, and of course I'm always down for some OF!

  • I'll have 2 slots open at a time. I try to get to requests within about two weeks, but sometimes I encounter delays.

  • One chapter per request. Please feel free to re-request for subsequent chapters, but to be honest, I may end up just reading and reviewing other chapters on my own if I'm digging your story and I have the time.

  • I love romance, humor, and drama, but will read all genres and all ratings. Heavy topics and disturbing content are ok with me. I'm cool with smut.

  • I don't have a lot of dislikes, but here are a few things I avoid:
    • Teacher/student or others kinds of cross-generational romance (unless you're putting them in an AU or time travel scenario that erases the power imbalance.
    • Dramione
    • Use your judgment when asking me to review fics that involve character-bashing. Generally I consider bashing a poor exercise in characterization and if I see it I'll likely just end up not commenting on your portrayal of that character at all unless you've asked me for concrit. If I see Ron-bashing I'll nope out entirely. I've seen enough of it for a lifetime and I'm over it. ?

  • If I look at your fic and for some reason think I'm not well suited to reading and reviewing it, I'll PM you and let you know, and invite you to submit a different fic.

Now give me all the fics!! ?

Hi! I stopped by your review request thread after reading your fantastic Audrey centered fic.

Story and Author Name, including link:To the East (M) by StarFeather
Warnings and Advisories:Sexual Content, Violence
Genre:Angst, Action, Adventure, Romance, Hurt/Comfort, (a little bit maybe AU but not so much with an Asian fairy tale).
Length: about 5400 words
Summary:It might have been Molly's weary back figure or George's distant gaze while Ron tried saying jokes that caused his impulse to flee to the other countries. It might have been the moment when he heard about a legendary ramen noodles maker in east Asia. He wasn't sure of his true motivation to leave Britain. Maybe he wanted to be like his brother who followed his passion to Romania and its dragons.
Ships:Hermione/ Ron, Ginny/Harry, Charlie /OC, Molly/Arthur, Fluer/Bill
Areas of Concern:Any thoughts will be appreciated. Thank you in advance!

Hi, there! I've been hoping to catch an open slot for quite a while. You're very much in demand. I was wondering if you would take a look at my current WIP.

Story and Author Name, including link: After Destiny [M] by CambAngst
Warnings and Advisories: Mature; Hate Speech, Consent Issues (Severe), Sexual Content, Slavery, Spoilers, Substance Abuse, Violence
Genre: Angst, Drama, Hurt/Comfort

Ships: Many; primarily Ginny/Harry and Hermione/Ron
Summary:  Children. Warriors. Heroes. Victims. Survivors.

Harry Potter and his friends struggle to move on with their lives after the Second Wizarding War.

Areas of Concern: I'm always very concerned about characterization and tone. Do the characters feel like themselves? Does the scene and the mood flow well and match up to canon?
Current Review Request Count: 1/5

Thank you!
