sibilant Posted December 7, 2019 Posted December 7, 2019 as always, fashionably late to the party! as a heads up, i won't be able to give gifts until mid-december-ish when i'm done with finals (and even then i'm hoping to dedicate most of my hpft time to the review event)--letting you know in case that factors at all into your gifting decisions! i'd love basically any gift, but i have a few suggestions below writer's journal questions/maybe even thoughts on any of my previous posts in my wj when i actually had the time to actively maintain it reviews on anything on my AP banners for any stories that don't have banners at the moment, or picspams inspired by my stories multicultural/diverse headcanons that you find cool and/or think will inspire me to write really, any writing prompt multicultural/diverse fic recs (or write me a multicultural/diverse fic?!) fic recs that you think i'd like--check out my review thread if you wanna get a sense of the sort of things i like to read talk to me about something you're passionate about! (or even better, post a blog post about something you're passionate about--kinda like the blog posts i have on my blog) book or poem or play recs kind gestures for other people - specifically: a kind gesture for a new member, or a member you've never talked to before, or a member you have a friend crush on a review on a story without any reviews a kind gesture for a staffer give your friends compliments and tell them you love them articles or essays that you think i'd find interesting puzzles/riddles puns! esp if they're super bad respond to a review i wrote you post in a recommendation thread that hasn't been posted in in a while (or start a new recommendation thread!) start a new game thread in the quidditch pitch thank you
MegGonagall Posted December 7, 2019 Posted December 7, 2019 Happy Holidays!! I’m here with a picspam inspired by your fic, hermione’s betrayal. I hope you like it!!
LadyMarauder Posted December 7, 2019 Posted December 7, 2019 Hi! I've left you some questions on your Writers' Journal! Merry Christmas!
victoria_anne Posted December 7, 2019 Posted December 7, 2019 Hi Shreya! Merry Christmas I left a review on an exercise in mediocrity here+ I really, really enjoyed it! It completely put a spell on me. I love the way Lila really chases what she wants. She sounds like a catch, and we all know Oliver Wood is a keeper (if he helps her family's shop, that is.) I'm seeking more! I hope you won't be a bludger about writing the next chapter! I also made a recommendation in the Remus Lupin/OC thread because it's been 18 months since anyone has, and also no one had recommended Chiara's story, which I thought was a bit of a crime. Thank you for the nudge!
grumpy cat Posted December 7, 2019 Posted December 7, 2019 shreya *_* you're one of my favourite people. like, for real. and you're amazing, smart, beautiful, genuinely a nice person and someone i know i can talk to about anything. you're a wonderful friend and i know that right now you'll probably be tempted to just deny everything i said, but it doesn't make it any less true. you're also my fellow disaster person, the two of us drinking tea in the face of catastrophe *_* i'm so so happy that i got to know you this past year and that i can call you my friend *_* also, here's a smol banner for untranslatable (because my quest in taking over your ap is still an ongoing affair)

Predictable Chaos Posted December 29, 2019 Posted December 29, 2019 Hey Shreya, Here's a review for exercise in mediocrity for you. Happy Holidays!
poppunkpadfoot Posted December 30, 2019 Posted December 30, 2019 hi shreya! i responded to a review you left me i also have a poetry rec for you! i don't read a lot of poetry but there is one specific poet i like named Tara McGowan-Ross - she put out a book called Girth that i really enjoyed but i can't find any of the poems for that online atm (although the book is available to be ordered online for like $15-ish?). here are the poems of hers that i was able to find online: http://www.theblastedtree.com/slick-of-the-earth and http://metatron.press/omega/poetry/tara-mcgowan-ross/ i don't know a lot about poetry but i hope you'll like these!
Guest Noelle Zingarella Posted December 31, 2019 Posted December 31, 2019 Hi Shreya! I'm here with a few fic recs for you The Irises Will Take Over the World+ by @Oregonian This is a work of original fiction about a woman grieving for the son she lost in WWII. It's stunningly beautiful and you'll need tissues. The way that it tangles together pain and beauty and rebirth is so fantastic. Sirius Orion Black: A Psychological Case Study (M)+ by @potionspartner Barbara wrote this fic in the format of an actual case study and while some might find her conclusions controversial--it's a truly fascinating read. Spectacles and Spectrespecs+ by @pookha Luna Lovegood meets Superman. 'Nuff said. Also, I wanted to share one of my new OCs with you, under the spoiler bar: Spoiler This is Healer A'isha bint Nadir al-Shafiq, and she is introduced in Chapter 25 of Moonlight. Shafiq is on the list of the Sacred Twenty-Eight, per JKR, and when I saw that name there I leapt on it to create this character. The Shafiq family has been in England for several generations, and before that they were based in Cairo, and before that they were from Baghdad. Healer A'isha is a Ravenclaw, and started at Hogwarts in the same year as Lucius Malfoy. They are not exactly friends, but not exactly enemies either. I'm very much looking forward to writing about her more in libera nos a malo, although she's already been very useful in Chapters 25 and 26 of the first novel. Exploring the way Islamic magic would work and mix with the established canon of HP magic is something that should be especially interesting. This character is also inspired by and a small tribute to my late aunt, who, along with my cousin (her son) converted Islam.
magemadi Posted December 31, 2019 Posted December 31, 2019 Hi Shreya! I recommended a fic in the The 100 thread+ since no one had posted in it since Paula's first post in 2017 Happy Holidays and Happy New Year!

BookDinosaur Posted January 1, 2020 Posted January 1, 2020 happy new year, shreya! i left a review on untranslatable for you, and i have a poem rec -- The Glass Essay (probably M) is a long poem by the incomparable anne carson which marvellously captures a lot of supremely messy emotions and i think you would enjoy it!
