just.a.willow.tree Posted March 21, 2020 Posted March 21, 2020 Everything = I need to know how you color omg, especially the shadows of your models' skin?? That is a very specific observation, I know, but their skin always has this beautiful sort of glow underneath, and it's gorgeous! Sooo beautiful.
sunshine_locks Posted March 21, 2020 Posted March 21, 2020 PAULA! your graphics are always so beautiful how? and idk what the word is but your graphics always have this really nice and soft and glowy feel to it always makes feel really happy for some reason! i love your work!
crowsb4bros Posted March 21, 2020 Author Posted March 21, 2020 THANK YOU BOTH FOR BEING SO NICE TO ME! I cycle through a lot of lighting textures and try to position them so that they hit that cheekbone right! I also erase a lot of the lighting textures because I think they can end up adding too much. I use one of the lighting textures by Lilith-Demoness but I'll have to dig out which one because I organize my textures by how I use them (all my lighting textures are dumped into one folder). I FORGOT TO TALK ABOUT COLORING. I will often use psds because I'm lazy and people are really good at it. I also use selective coloring on a duplicated image in conjunction with changing my neutral tones on color balance! I skew towards either dark+reddish hues or orange and blues because I'm predictable. For the glowy skin look I either finish a graphic one of two ways: 1) I duplicate the image and set it on 75%. I use the oil paint filter dropping the shine, bristle details to the lowest settings and then adjusting radius and cleanliness until it smooths the images but I can still make out the details. Then I erase high detailed areas (eyes, the inner area of hair, lips, hands and random background details). 2) I duplicated the image and set it on 75% and soft light. I set it on the 'maximum' filter 2-3 pixels. I erase what I want sharper but it's nice and glowy! Hopefully that helps!
grumpy cat Posted March 21, 2020 Posted March 21, 2020 just going to pop in and say i love everything you make, especially those reylo book cover thingies (or are they movie posters...in any case i love them) *_* but also! that last giant squid award is pure gold *_*
ImaRavenclaw Posted March 23, 2020 Posted March 23, 2020 Paula these are amazing!! I remember when you were just starting out as a member artist on TDA. I still love my Kissing Lessons banner. I honestly don't even have any words. Keep doing what you're doing, whatever it is, it's working. Love them so much I'll request something from you soon.
beyond the rain Posted May 1, 2020 Posted May 1, 2020 Paula, you're so talented *_* I love your header, and how sharp it is. I'm also obsessed with your colouring and all of those banners. My favourites have to be the "even the best laid plans" and "my girl" - they're perfect. The 'spooky signature' has my heart, oh wow
toomanycurls Posted June 29, 2020 Posted June 29, 2020 I know compliments make you uncomfortable. so Can you just make my life aesthetic?
