Why hello there... Welcome to my Mad Tea Party. Sit, have a biscuit Potter. Here's a place to ask me about what I'm writing, talk about what you're writing, and find some extra information about anything to do with my fics. I really really appreciate any reads that my stories get and if you have any questions you want to ask me about them I will do my best to answer! Oh, and definitely ask me for movie recommendations and crap like that, I'm a huge cinephile.

 

Fandoms I Write/Read: Harry Potter (first and for most), Cassandra Clare's Shadowhunter books, Game of Thrones, The Graces books by Laure Eve, and the Kiss Him Not Me mangas/anime.

I also write original fiction (I'm working on quite a few novels) and I write lots of poetry.

What I'm working on right now...

The Many Secrets and Lies of Oliver Wood

A deeply riveting exposé on the life of Oliver Wood.
Because Iris Skeeter just cannot help herself.

A novel about Rita Skeeter's niece. All in the course of a year she manages to draw every last drop of secret out from Oliver Wood's life: going undercover, seducing him, maybe even breaking his heart. Finally the tales of old romances, parental fights, and substance abuse will come to light. But at what cost?

 

What We Were 

Albus Potter is definitely not having the year of his life. So many things that make up his existence are changing, and the one thing Albus despises over everything is change. But what if the only way to get things back to the way they need to be, is to be adaptable?

With war on his heels and secrets around every corner, it’s not going to be easy.

A novel about Albus Severus Potter questioning. Questioning everything, morality, sexuality, his decisions. There's a new war a brewing and his personal relationships are on the brink of being in shambles. It's basically drama meets dark, with a hint of sultry romance and lots of teenage drinking. 

 

What I'd like to see more of...

I kept it as a top three so be proud of me: Cedric Diggory/Oliver Wood stories, Indian and Middle Eastern Potters (a la Upthehill) and characters in general, and Draco as a soft dad.

A snippet a snappet of Chapter Two of The Many Secrets and Lies of Oliver Wood.

Quote

One night, feeling lonely Oliver decided to phone Iris. It was on a stupid whim, after a glass of scotch. She didn’t pick up the phone quickly, as he’d expected. Instead, she picked up right as he was about to hang up.

 

“Iris Skeeter speaking.” Little did Oliver know she was smirking on the other side of the phone. He began to pace around his apartment like he usually did on a call. If Oliver ever had to loose weight, he would call his muggle grandmother and listen to her ramble on. Treacle followed him around, paws clacking on the old hardwood floors. 

“Hi, this is Oliver.” 

“Oliver?”

Oliver gave the dog a perplexed look. “Oliver Wood.” He said.

Wow, even the damn interviewer finds you forgettable. The dog said.

Oliver covered the phone with his hand, “Shut up,” he said to the dog.

Thought I'd come to share a snippet of my upcoming Oliver/Harry way post-Hogwarts one night stand one-shot, A Scottish B&B.

“Oliver, what are you doing here?” Harry’s face was coated in surprise. Oliver laughed heartily and limped out from behind the counter as an explanation. Harry gave him another puzzled look. He had not heard of Oliver on the quidditch circuit for a while but hadn’t thought anything like this could be the reason. 

“Hurt myself on the pitch a while back. Healers thought it was a break but… I can’t really explain it, they don’t even know what it is. My body’s always spasming and in pain. I can’t play anymore. And Jack’s an old family friend. He needed someone to buy the place so, I did.” 

Draco was hanging back by the door. He was practically having a fit deciding whether to stay or leave. Working together had forced Harry and Draco to get over their differences, but Draco still despised people like Oliver Wood. “Enough with the sob story,” Draco said.

“Hark at you, jeez Draco calm yourself.” Harry said. Then he gave Oliver an embarrassed look of apology for his pet. Draco was like a dog who was calm outside but broke coffee tables and destroyed flowers inside.

“How much for a room?” Draco asked, ignoring Harry’s comment completely.

At the close of the film Albus grins. He stands and claps, which is completely dorky and possible archaic, but it was truly a wonderful film. “Wasn’t it lovely Rose?”

“Why do you always talk like you live in the 50s?”

“I do not,” Albus grunts. He sits back down and tucks a strand of Rose’s hair behind her ear. She turns towards him. Albus sees the water being held back behind the rims of her dark green eyes. “Don’t cry Rosie, you’ll find another guy.”

“But Xander is so lovely. He is a perfect gentleman and Daddy approves of him.”

“Who sounds like they’re talking like the 50s now, huh?” Albus pokes her and she can’t help but giggle a little. She stops quickly though and becomes sad again.

“And Mum really liked him too. I know that she wants me to be with an Indian because I’m only a quarter. Obviously she would accept whoever my boyfriend ended up being, but you know that she would just prefer I date someone of my heritage. She’s thinking of sending me out there next summer actually.”

“No,” Albus protests, “No you can’t leave me. Who am I supposed to talk to? What am I supposed to do?”

There is silence. Then Rose says, “What about Frederick?” 

“Well yeah, I can talk to him but—.”

Hello!

I'm currently having a bit of a read-spree on your page and have a question: What first attracted you to Oliver Wood's character? 

I'm always interested in how fanfic authors get their person!

@Ravenclaw_scientist Thanks for the question! And man, there are so many reasons I love Oliver. I have totally never wanted to be that person who doesn't relate to this meme of, 

Me when people assume I only love my favourite character because they're half of my OTP:

 

But that was probably the initial reason. Oliver was always a favourite but never the favourite. And it's been pretty easy for me to pick favourite characters in the series (the men - Oliver, Cedric, Harry, Draco, Sirius, James, Remus, and Scorpius and the women - Ginny, Luna, Cho, Narcissa, Molly, Lily, McGonagall, and Hermione) but to choose from among them is like asking me to kill one of my children.

But I've grown since my initial Cedriver bonanza...

I think Oliver appeals to me because he isn't a major character, first of all. It leaves much more room for exploration. People also make lots of assumptions about him and it can be fun to lean into the idea that he's maybe not got good life skills and is hyper focused on quidditch and not school, but it can also be fun to rebel against those ideas. People may see him as bland or one dimensional, but I think he's really such a sweetheart and I love to explore his softer side... his darker sides as well. If you read all of the stories I've written with him then you'll see that there are many variations. He's smart and passionate and so much fun to write.

It also helps that he's fucking hot looool.

No judgement there! Especially when they g to be part of an OTP you get to explore them from their internal narrative and their partners internal narrative, so I always love exploring a character that way!

All these songs have different meanings or parts to play in my story. Some are soundtrack parts that I imagine when I think of the story as a movie. Some just capture the mood. And some actually are in the story. Anything that isn't in English will have von, par, di, etc. instead of by, to say who the song is by. Just so you know that it's not part of the song title. Because Their Little Brother+ (M) is such an absolute crapfest that barely even makes sense to me, I thought I'd make a list of the canon divergences you need to know in case it's too confusing...

 

THE POTTERS: Lily and James are alive, Harry has a little brother (his name is Sebastian and he often goes by Seb or Sebby), they no longer live in Godric's Hollow but rather in the full on countryside.

THE WEASLEYS: Fred doesn't exist (George's twin is named Tessa, after Great Aunt Tessie), Ginny also doesn't exist, and neither does Bill. As a result of having two less children, Molly Weasley recently went back to work and the Weasleys, while not as wealthy as the Potters, are more well off.

THE DIGGORYS: Cedric is alive (duh.)

THE LONGBOTTOMS: There's a whole thing with Snape being part of the Order from the beginning and Voldemort deciding to try killing both Chosen Boys to avoid a situation and that backfires. People die, including him, etc. It's not really important, but Neville is dead and Frank Longbottom is the one who pretty much killed Voldemort. There's history here of course (I mean, horcruxes?) But it's not important. 

 

MORE: No Fenrir Greyback - Remus not infected with Lycanthropy. Bellatrix also non-existent - Sirius alive. Peter - who knows, in general I just hate him. Hermione is in Ravenclaw and isn't friends with Ron or Harry.
