What Am I Even Doing? / TreacleTart

I'm way late to the party, but I find that sometimes I do best without plans and with short windows of time. 

I have a couple of hypothetical goals, but nothing super firm. I have 19 WIPs posted and another 3 in my laptop, so the goal is to get organized and do some writing on them. 

Not going to have an official word count, but I'd be stoked if I could even get to 20k.

 

Some of the things I will likely try to work on:

The Next Generation: Post-death HP fic featuring Harry, Dobby, and a whole bunch of other favorites, novel

Isabella: a story of magic in Mexico, novel

Sparks: a series non-fic of one-shots about chance first meetings with people that have stuck out in my mind throughout my life, one-shot collection

Underground: Ludo Bagman gambling addiction and the underground world of illegal thestral racing, short story

Collection of poetry: just a random assortment of poems

i mean all of you projects sound awesome but kaitlin! i need this in my life! it sounds super interesting and original - i love it where did you get the idea for this story? do you have an outline or a plot or are you just going to wing it? and writing ludo! will this be before we meet him in goblet of fire or during/after?

Hey Kris! Thanks for the comment. So I started it a long while back. There’s a chapter posted under the title Underground. (Sorry can’t link right now) I got the idea for it after watching a tv show about illegal horse racing. I do have a vague plot outline, but I kind of always wing things. I only plan for it to be 5-8 chapters, so it shouldn’t be too bad. 

and yes! Ludo is such an interesting character, but he rarely ever gets written. This will be just prior to Goblet. Essentially it’ll be the lead up to how he ends up so desperate at the Quidditch match.

I have four one-shots for it written and edited and ready to post. Two more are in the writing process. Thinking it will likely be 10-12 one-shots in total.

I love this idea! I read Silt and Seashells and really like how, with the nature of them being underwater for most of the story, the person is very enigmatic. It could be anyone. The nature of the relationship is a little enigmatic too--while they seem physically and maybe even romantically attracted to each other, it could easily pass for meeting someone who you would love to be close friends with. Are most of these one-shots going to be missed connections, for lack of a better word?
