Blackout poetry is creating a poem from a page preexisting text, by connecting words on the page in a new way. One the words are chosen, the extraneous words are covered up. Here are some examples: They can be artistic or straightforward. They can use color or not. They might connect to the source text or have no relation to it at all. THE CHALLENGE: Create a blackout poem using one of the below pages from Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. How To: Everyone is eligible to participate Any photo editor should work for creating your poem. For these purposes, I recommend pixlr. It's free and requires no download. You may NOT add additional words or letters to the page You MAY use the words out of order, though it is recommended to indicate reading order in this case. You MAY enter one poem for each of the four pages You may NOT enter more than one poem for a single page Within these rules, you have complete creative freedom in completing your poem!
