Naming Original Characters

Does anyone else spend half of their first drafts just trying to properly name an OC? How do you know when you've found the right name? What tools do you use to find possibilities? Do you try to name them something that suggests their character or personality or is it just because you like the way it sounds?

Sometimes I find myself literally starting with syllable count. For example, in my Stubborn Love Series, Kit Wood is a horrible person and I since I wanted people to be constantly angry with him I wanted a single syllable name. I just find one word names to sound blunt and thus harsh. In that same series I know I confused people by naming an OC Freddie when there's already a known Freddie in the Next-Gen canon - but it was just right. My original character of Freddie was a working class, jokster of a character and so he needed a name that suggested a bit of playfulness and roughness that took away any sense of propriety.

How about you guys?
