challenge details: the themes category on the archive has gotten a glow up. now it's "tropes," and a lot of new tropes have been added. choose one of the new tropes listed below and write a +chatfic (i.e., a fic in text form). the entire fic doesn't have to be a chatfic if you don't want it to be, but a significant part of it should be. this may involve modern aus. do not be afraid to modern au.

tropes include: belligerant sexual tension, big happy family, black sheep, coffee shop au, destructive romance, detention, drunken confessions, dysfunctional family, fake relationship, five things, friendly rivalry, friends with benefits, love hurts, love triangle, lovers to friends, matchmaker, modern au, mutual pining, only one bed, opposites attract, sarcastic devotee, secret relationships, sink your ship, toxic friend influence, tragic evil, troubled but cute, and vitriolic best friends

no prewrittens, but multiple entries and/or stories entered in other challenge are fine. no need to say whether you're a taker or a maybe - just post if you want to say that you're interested.

rewards: reviews on all entries, graphic awards, 5 additional reviews for winner, 3 additional reviews for runner up, possibly more rewards if there are a lot of entries

Ah, Tropes the cornerstone of writing. I'll give the fake relationship trope a go as it's a Fanfictalk favourite.

So im definitely interested but won't give u a definite trope just yet.  Also can I do multiple tropes?

real question: can i write murphy and emma (the 100), in a modern au in which no canon knowledge is required?
(if not, that's totally fine, and will probably do a next gen hp au of some sort)

wow wow wow i think i've found my first challenge in 5+ years, bless u branwen!!

i'm doing multiple tropes with trio-era minor characters, probably the cast of keep calm and carry on because i'm a narcissist (and tbh that fic was mostly tropes anyway.) put me down for a heavy dosing of deamus friends to lovers with a sprinkling of like 8 other tropes. is it cool if i include them in the author notes?

for a wip, is there a certain amount of chapters you'd like up by the deadline? i'm going to try to have at least two -maybe three- for context purposes, but man, i forgot how much fun chatfics are
