Translations

WriteYourHeartOut

Recommended Posts

Often times when writing, the need for other languages to come into play crops up. Google translations (and other similar programs) are generally rather sketchy, however, when it comes to reliability. And that's where this topic comes into play.

Do you speak another language fluently? And would you be willing to help an author in need, should they be looking for an accurate translation? If so, please post below letting us know which language(s) you are truly fluent in and willing to confidently offer assistance on.

If you're someone looking for a specific word or line or paragraph translated, you may also post below inquiring for help (so long as the quote in need of translating follows our site guidelines). If you'd rather the translation be private, look for someone who has posted below that they speak the language you're looking for and send them a private message instead.

I wouldn't say I'm fluent, but I did spend 14 years learning Irish, so I should be able to help with anything that isn't too technical.

I am fluent in Spanish, specifically in Mexican Spanish. I do have some knowledge of Caribbean & South American Spanish as well.

I also am able to read & write French at a decent level, so I could possibly be a bit of help there.

My mother language is Italian, so, if you ever happen to need help with it, absolutely drop me a PM! :) I will be more than happy to help you out! ;)

My first language is Norwegian, and I'll be happy to help you with translation or with information about my country. I've studied Spanish for six years, so I do know a little Spanish as well, but I'd probably pick some of the other members of this site before me, cause I know we have some members that are fluent in Spanish and I'm not.

Just send me a PM if you need help. I usually answer PMs very quickly  :)

I have a degree in French and Spanish (so I'm pretty fluent in both languages) and speak both Catalan and German to a reasonably advanced level.  If you want some help with any of those languages, just send me a PM :)

I can help with Mandarin, French, Japanese.

My mum and sister both studied German for years, and they're always willing to help out with translations (i've also picked up a lot from them)

My mother tongue is Japanese.

You can ask me about kanji, katakana and hiragana.

If you send PM me, I'll tell you how to pronounce these words.

My native language is Bulgarian, so go ahead with any questions about the language or accent, if you choose to write a fonetic accent. I guess I could also help somewhat with Russian.

Hey guys!  I thought it might be easier if we put it in list format and each person who adds in can update it.

I'm fluent in Spanish and have a degree in Latin American and Caribbean Studies, so if you want some cultural info to go along with your linguistic questions, I'll do my best to help out!  I also speak a little bit of Portuguese, if you just need the bare basics.

I speak Spanish pretty well. (I always say I'm not fluent, but other people say I am. I dunno.) Since others are fluent, I'd say check elsewhere first unless you're specifically looking for help with Argentine/Uruguayan/Chilean Spanish. I lived in Buenos Aires, so I've got you covered for that! :)

I can also help out a little with Hebrew, although I am far from fluent. But since no one is listed for that yet, why not?

I'm not sure how much this would be useful in writing, but I'm fluent in American Sign Language (ASL). You know, if anyone is writing about a Deaf American. And for the record, most countries have their own sign language. British Sign Language (BSL) is totally different than ASL. No relation whatsoever.
