abcd

abcd is the second installment in the literal chaos fire series. it's the return of our favourite friends, and their messy lives! a recap for those who haven't read it in a while, or for those reading and who aren't interested in reading lcf before continuing through this thread, lcf is a muggle college au featuring:

The Main Characters

• lily potter - the logically chaotic one. law student, will's girlfriend (long story), only one who gets to call flynn 'will', cereal massacre-ist
• molly weasley - the romantically chaotic one. engineering student, secretly in a flirtationship with emerson, might still be in love with lysander, lives in the wotter house
• victoire weasley - the responsibly chaotic one. science grad student, slowly getting over teddy, ready to get back out there, epitome of mom friend

The Supporting Cast

• william flynn - lily's boyfriend, star quarterback, genuinely great guy
• emerson walsh - molly's flirtationship, science student, lovely lady
• scorpius malfoy - lily's best friend, will's best friend/roommate, rose's boyfriend, molly's lab partner, stand up guy
• lysander scamander - molly's best friend (whom she is currently avoiding), once went on a date with emerson (or so he thought)
• rose weasley - the least chaotic one, scorpius's girlfriend, lives in the wotter house
• james potter - lily's twin, lives in the wotter house
• fred weasley - lives in the wotter house
• roxanne weasley - lives in the wotter house, honestly just wants to make it to second year
• teddy lupin - victoire's ex, moved to america, her old house was the recipient of a well-meaning but irresponsible toilet paper-ing

we last left the gang at flynn's football game, wherein lily made a grand romantic gesture in order to win him back - which was in fact successful. feel free to read about it in the missing moments accompaniment to the series - embracing the chaos.

now you may have noticed that i have not explained the title. and i'm not going to explain the title. i'm not even going to post this story until it's done (shocking i know)! but i will say this - abcd will be revolving around molly and her disaster of a life! there will be parties (of course), dates (oh my), and drama (because duh).

other chaos universe projects

while i am going to focus on abcd, there are other projects within the chaos universe that i wouldn't mind working on as well. they are, as follows:

• embracing the chaos - the missing moments collection (as i've said), will be updated as required within the story but won't be posted until abcd goes up
• chaos at christmas -  this one might be done by the time nano starts, but its a companion to lcf universe as well, inspired by the trick-ord treat bot on the fft discord
• ladies of chaos - a royalty au of lcf, follows a summer of chaos as the lead up to royal wedding, plus crossover with reign maybe (might change that honestly)

Hey Lo! This sounds great! Will this be another chatfic? If it is, how do you balance getting so many words out without creating super long chapters? What's the general plot in abcd, and what are you most looking forward to writing?

I guess I'm not here to ask questions and i skipped over some of the beginning of your post because I need to finish literal chaos fire as well as embracing the chaos moments first, but i want to just shout at the top of my lungs that I AM SO SUPER HAPPY YOU ARE DOING NANO AND EXPANDING YOUR LCF UNIVERSE INTO MORE DRAMATIC AND HILARIOUS ADVENTURES.

ALSO, who do i bribe to put ladies of chaos higher on the priorities list? Just kidding, of course you should focus on whatever feels right at the moment, your writing makes me smile no matter what it is.

You do the chatfic format so well. What do you like about it? Is there anything you find challenging or constraining about it?

Which LCF character (main or supporting) is your favorite to write? Which one would you be best friends with? Which one would you most like to live with? Least like to live with?

yes! i plan to do three installments in this series, each one with a different love life in focus we've had lily, this one will be molly, and the last will be victoire's turn! i think the key to making sure the chapters aren't long is just getting the important info in first. i'll have a general idea of what the chapter should be 'about' and write about it, and once i hit about 1K words, im good. if i dont i just add in background info on other characters!

ahhh i guess the general plot will be about molly and the drama of her love life, as well as christmas with the weasley/potters, which will be even messier  i dont want to spoil too much, but a love triangle wouldn't be too out of sorts. i guess im most looking forward to writing the ending! i do actually have an ending in mind for this one and i can't wait to put it to 'paper' (or screen i guess)

yesssssss im hoping to get 3 chatfic novellettes and the companion etc for the regular story nd then any extras and AU! i am def sticking with these chaotic girls  

hmmm i suppose you would have to bribe me but dont worry, i have thought of the first line of the real story! i will try to get some more done soon!!! i wont be letting that one stay just one chapter for long!

yes! currently abcd and the third installment will be chatfics, and chaos at christmas is a chatfic! i guess i like writing chatfics because i don't need to write description lol  plus i take a lot from irl group chats i have! im constantly chatting to friends in group chats so it's really a second part of my life!

the most challenging part is when i have a chapter and there aren't enough words. when i get the bulk of the chapter down i then have to add on to it, and figuring out how to do that while keeping it interesting and important to the storyline is really hard. sometimes i just get stuck, other times i accidentally add another plot line!

oh man oh man, so! i love writing molly, she's basically an extension of me  BUT i also really freakin love writing rose+scorp and their just lovey dovey dynamic, idk why i just do. i would probably be best friends with a combo of james and lysander (they're both slightly based off my bff irl), but im gonna go with james as a lock in answer because lysander is gonna do some questionable things that i would heavily berate my bff irl for... (shhh its a secret!) i would live with victoire or roxanne, both are tied, but i would want to live near james, fred, and molly (party house that i don't have to actually live with lol). probably would least like to live with rose, im a mess and she would judge me too much

yeah! so ladies of chaos has one chapter (prologue) up and they are royalty! i think it's explained more in the chapter but tldr; harry potter overthrew the tyrannical king and took over the small country of hogwarts! most of the DA as you know it are noble as they were instrumental in the overthrowing! it is entirely set at hogwarts court, although it is modern, so like if the CW show reign was set in a modern era with magic

so i still have not written anything for abcd but i did write a chapter for etc that happens halfway through abcd... i also did a bunch of character analysis and i'm hoping to have some more picspams of some of the characters soon, but for now, here's a snippet of a chapter i'm tentatively calling 'tequila and heartache'

Alright y'all, time to give you the deets on all my characters! (no im not using this to procrastinate starting this...). to start us off...

roxanne weasley

 

roxanne is chaotic adjacent - she won't actively start something or hype someone up but is always down to be recruited. she loves plants and is a physics major. because she's fairly laid-back, she is everyone's favourite roommate which she subtly uses to get what she wants from the rest of 'the dopest house' occupants without them even realizing it.

fred weasley

 

chaotic and proud of it. fred is a journalism major and wants to one day be a reporter for a big news network or a lead journalist for a big newspaper. he loves dogs, partying, and watching romcoms with molly. his best friend is james and they were the ones who pitched a wotter family house after their other friends refused to live with them (lol wonder why). he has yet to be iced by james, which is a bit of a sore spot.

james potter

 

james is lily's twin. he's only 15mins older but never lets her forget it. he is the most chaotic - gets kicked out of bars, spends way too much time partying, is a bit of a player - but a really great person to have on your side. sometimes he'll watch romcoms with fred and molly because he thinks molly's crying face is funny, but only if popcorn is involved. self-proclaimed snack who likes to snack, he is a terror but his family wouldn't have him any other way. he and fred are notorious bffs and have terrified their friends enough that he had to reach out to family when no one would live with him.

okay and quickly following that in celebration, here is our favourite couple who gives us a little bit too much insight into their bedroom antics...

rose weasley

 

rose is theoretically the responsible one... but honestly her favourite saying is "plausible deniability". she likes to bake cookies for emotional support instead of talking, is usually uptight except when it comes to sex positivity, and cannot make coffee. she wants to be a politician like her mother to fight for the things that are important to her, but tequila makes her want to dance so all her cousins have potential blackmail material on her.

 

scorpius malfoy

 

scorpius is rose's boyfriend and would like to someday be known as rose's stay-at-home trophy husband. even so, he's getting an engineering degree as a back up, and is molly's lab partner. he's somewhat responsible but unlike rose is very susceptible to peer pressure and will join in on shenanigans if asked. he has a strange dislike for nicknames in chat convos which has been passed on to rose, however they are each others exceptions, calling each other RosieBear and Scorpistud in private.

ELI!!! I love all my weirdos, even if they only exist in the background  and yes, Rose and Scorpius are such cuties, I love relationships where the guy is like "this is my girlfriend, she could step on you without blinking and then I would wash the blood out of her skirt because I support her so much and just want her to succeed in her endeavors " And yes, James is such a great cousin  Ooooh questions!

1. James is definitely the one to start the food fight  You were spot on. Who would win is a toss up between Rose and Roxanne. Roxanne because she actually would win, she's a sharp shooter, Rose because she would shut it down and yell at them to clean up.

2. Oh man only three items?

• Roxanne - a lighter, a book about edible plants and how to prepare them, and hair care products (yes this counts as one item)
• Fred - a book, matches, and a canoe (hey you never specified they couldn't bring a boat  )
• James - snack mix, his phone, and Fred's canoe  
• Rose - a flare gun, some rope, and a tarp
• Scorpius - Rose, a nice candle, and a comfy blanket (Rose will obviously be able to get them off the island so until then he'll make sure she's comfortable and they can have some nice alone time)

3. Scorpius and Lily became friends when they were younger (they even got 'married'!). Once when she brought him to a family gathering he met Rose and was smitten. A few years later when they were baby teenagers, she agreed to go out on a date with him and he took her to a museum. He talked all about women in history being ignored for their achievements, artistically, politically, and scientifically and that was it. Rose realized he was the kind of guy that would never be threatened or emasculated by her, and he's really a sweet guy, so they've been together ever since!

4. Yes, James was in love once, but sadly it was not meant to be. Poor baby had his heart broken and hasn't opened up since (ugh, men. just go to therapy!).

5. Fred wants to be a journalist because he wants to learn about the world, and teach others about it as well. He wants to be able to bring people important and correct information. If he can't be a broadcaster (he loves the spotlight) he wants to write about it. He likes the idea of his words being the ones to reach people. He loves being in the know and is therefore quite nosy. 

6. Not even Roxy knows how many plants she has. They're everywhere. In the bathrooms, in other people's rooms, in Lily's car. She's pretty much trained everyone though, especially since no one wants to cross her by accidentally killing them, so they get the best care. During exams she's known to enter rooms with her watering can to make sure they aren't being neglected and will douse you if you aren't taking care of yourself either.

So with under 30 hours to go, I am here to say that I officially wrote chapters 2, 3, and 4, bringing my total up to 4 chapters of this that I was supposed to write. So far we have handcuffs, a peanut strawberry allergy, and a declaration of love? in only 4 chapters? oh no...
