Hello new friendly world I already adore.

I have been doing Nano for the past..13 years? Some with great succes, some not. But i do always enjoy thinking about new things and writing up new worlds. So I am going to explain what I am going to do. 2 years ago I wrote a story about a boy that gets choicen to go on an adventure to protect the galaxy. So my idea is to do 7 books in which one planet is central stage for each of the books. With exeption of earth because enough books are about earth. So first book 2 years ago was about mercury and i won that Nano and loved the story. So i have gotten up to.. 72k for that story, it is closing towards the end and I think I feel comfortable enough to work on book 2 this nano to start with something new. Which is always better for me.

 

So book 2: Woman of Venus* name might change but will be something similar. The group (8, one of each planet) have just saved mercury (oeps spoiler but, yeah youknow 7 books.) They arrive at Venus to reload their systems and for Leanora to see her kids. On Venus only woman live, while they normally get married with the man of Mars, who live on mars. The air on Venus is toxic for man after being on venus longer for a month. Kids can stay there until their 18th birthday, then the males need to go to Mars. So back to the story. They have just saved Mercury and are now reloading on Venus, meeting Leanora's kids. Vincent, main person, finds it so strange to just see woman and is still in wonder that he actually is in space on planets. Then something happens and they need to do their best to save venus and the woman of the planet to make sure everyone survives.

So I really hope to manage to get 50K this year on part 2! Really excited to continue with this group of people, who are all different and unique. I like to think of it as an New Adult category and I an not shy to tackle all kinds of things in my writing, depending if it fits the story. I like to try.

2. Can you tell me a bit more about the main characters?

3. How much have you plotted for each book?

4. Are all the planets a completely different world for the characters to deal with?

Hi Sapshel! Welcome!  I can't remember if I introduced myself to you somewhere else (overworked, overtired brain problems haha). I'm Courtney, so it's great to meet you! 

I am in awe of people who have consistently been writing for years and years. I am so inconsistent when it comes to writing, but I am hopeful that this community will help "keep me in line."

-Tell me about some of your prior NaNo projects. Do you always write original fiction? What was your favorite project you ever completed? Do you have any plans to do anything with it? 

-What is your favorite genre to write in? Why is it your favorite?

-In this current project, do you have any romantic pairings in mind? Or do you normally let your characters kind of determine that on their own?

Hiya Saph! Happy to see that you’re jumping right into FFT shenanigans and are doing NaNo for yet another year, that’s super impressive! How fun, science fiction type writing, yay!!! I’ve got some questions for you:

If only women can live/survive on Venus and men can only be there for 1 month at a time, how can male children live on the planet surface until they’re 18? Does the toxin (or whatever causes issues for men) only become activated after the body reaches a certain age/maturity?

How do you hope to keep things feeling fresh when you’re writing this new novel within the same universe as the first?

Are you planning to add any new secondary characters to your main crew in this book?
