Elena Posted November 2, 2020 Posted November 2, 2020 Hello fellow NaNoers.... I'm late to the party, but I am here I am Elena78 on the NaNo site if you want to be buddies there. I have attempted NaNo since 2006 and Draco and Ginny Pudding was my first ever NaNo story. Needless to say, I have NEVER won. I have never gotten to 50k words. This year has taken a lot out of me. So, let this be the thing that gets me a win I'm going to write an epic Dramione. I am a cliche queen. The more I can throw in, the better. I also love to write and post - so there WILL be errors!!! I'm already a day behind, so let's get this party started!!!!!
Darling_take_off_the_mask Posted November 2, 2020 Posted November 2, 2020 Hi Elena! It's only one day, I have faith you can catch up! It's a marathon, after all, not a sprint! You had me at "epic" and "cliche." What's your new fic going to be about? What are your favorite cliches? A glance at your AP tells me you’ve written a lot of Dramiones (and other Hermione/other characters and Draco/Ginny, but I’m looking at the Dramiones). When you write a new Dramione, do you like to explore them in different scenarios to bring them together, or do you like to write them as an established relationship? How will your current fic be different than anything else you’ve done so far? BTW, even if you haven't made it to 50K, I think it's amazing you've been doing NaNo for nearly 15 years! Good luck this month!!

The more tropes the better, haha. If you enjoy what you're writing, the words should just flow! Melanie has asked some great questions, but I have a few for you, too! 1. Is this a new story or have you already started this one? 2. What is it about? 3. What is it about the Draco/Hermione pairing that you love so much? Very best of luck to you, Elena! Hi @RonsGirlFriday and @victoria_anne, to be honest - I have no idea. My opening scene will have Hermione reflecting as she sips her champagne at Pansy and Rons engagement party. Let's just see where it goes? It's a brand new story, even though I have a few WIPs in the works and one that's being worked on. NaNo tends to work best for me if I start fresh. I love throwing these characters into various situations and seeing where they end up. I have a few stories already, so I want to try a new scenario but then have in many cliches along the way. And Fluff. I want all the fluff and romance and bucket vomit stuff as I can manage to throw in. It's been a while since I just sat in the romance genre without so much angst. So, I want to try as little angst as I can manage. If you have any favourite tropes/cliches throw them at me I love these two characters as a pair because I find they compliment each other in ways you don't expect. Both are intellectuals with varying strengths and weaknesses. The 'redemption' arch is a huge favourite of mine. It gives everyone that chance - a real chance to change. But I find that Hermione brings that out in Draco - she really is a great competitor for him. Romantically, I find they have that realistic up and down motion to them. They get to establish trust in a way most others don't - it's a 'get to know the real you' deal. I usually start off serious and trying to really establish that redemption, acceptance, friends to lovers kind of story - so this time, I'm deciding if we're just jumping right in or shortening that length of time. No idea, I'm just going to write and see where we end up
