November Story of the Month Nominations

How it works:

This thread is for you to nominate your favorite stories to be recognized as the FFT Story of the Month. Seconding isn't necessary, as all stories will move on to the voting round.

Mid-month [approximately 10 days after the nominations thread is posted], a Community Coordinator will post a voting poll for all of the stories that have been nominated. Don't worry about having to rush - you will have about 10 days to read the stories and vote for your favorite!

Winners will be announced in the News Bulletin on the first of each month. All SotM Winners will also receive a cool prize!

Please post your nominations in this thread using the following format:

Reason for Nomination: Y'all. You have to stop being biased against Dramione as a pairing, especially because Cassie is undoubtedly one of the best writers I've ever had the pleasure of reading and her stories are so freaking good. This one is no exception! It's cute and in-character and so well paced. Draco and Hermione's banter and bickering and sheer freaking chemistry are stunning. Everything about this story is so well done. You gotta read it. You just gotta. ?

Title: A Night on the Town
Author: @Professor McGonagall

Reason for Nomination: What started out as a glib discussion based entirely on a random comedic line from the HBP film turned into... a frankly beautiful interpretation of a supporting character who hardly ever gets written as a main, let alone a romantic lead. McG thoughtfully and unironically channels Horace Slughorn's affected grandiosity into a delightfully campy setting and narrative that actually makes a ton of sense for his character, and the prose is lovely. Once you read Horace as a young gay man in the early 20th century who can really only be himself in underground London clubs -- and whose romance with a colleague is sadly over before it really even has a chance to begin -- you might have a hard time imagining him any other way. (And that Three Broomsticks scene in HBP will never, ever be the same.)
