Vicki's Very Short Wishlist

A very happy holiday season to everyone.  Happy writing and reading!

My wish list is for people to read my story Tiramisu, which I began to write on October 15 and finished for NaNoWriMo.

This is a busy time of year, so you don't have to write reviews or say that you liked it.  (If we authors believe in our works, that's all that really matters, isn't it?)

It will be enough simply to see the read count go up.

I am posting a chapter every day.  (All written, just needs to be typed.)  9 chapters submitted, 7 validated as of 12-12-20 at 9:00 a.m. PST.  28,114 words so far, will top out at about 90K words.

My daughter read the manuscript on the day after Thanksgiving.  After reading a few pages she said, "I'm beginning to cry already.  You write such sad stories."  I said, "What do I write that's sad?"  She answered, "Oh, The Baby in the Closet, Beloved Son, Tiny Animals ... "  After reading farther she set down the manuscript and went into the kitchen.  I thought that maybe she had lost interest, but she said that she just needed to take a break because it was so intense that it was hard to read, though she imagined that it had been harder to write.  Then she came back to the story and read it to the end.  I said that when it was all typed into the computer, I would send it to her brother.  She said that I should warn him about chapters 5-8.

Thank you so much, Paula, for reading my story and leaving some reviews on the chapters!  It is so heart-warming to know that someone is taking a look into this world.

Hi Vicki! I'm Courtney. :) I do intend to read Tiramisu when I have a bit more time on my hands (I'm one of those people that feels like they need to review as they read LOL). It sounds like such a fascinating story, and I think I saw somewhere that you bind the stories and send them to your family members to read...that's super cool! ?

Anyway, while I had a little time this very early morning, I left some reviews on Tied With a Shiny Red Ribbon. Every story should have some reviews. And I love drabbles because I feel like they can be so effective and lovely when done right. And you did such a lovely job at conveying emotions in those moments with not so many words! Enjoy the rest of your December!

A giant Thank You to Paula @crowsb4bros, Bianca @victoria_anne, and Courtney @prideofsnowfairies for your reviews of my stories Tiramisu and Tied With a Shiny Red Ribbon.  This is such a busy time of year, especially as we approach Christmas, that your taking the time to read and review is so heartwarming ?.  And a big Thank You also to all the people who took the time to click on chapter 1 of Tiramisu (and there were  lot of you).  I don't know who all you are, but I hope you were intrigued by the first chapter, and have faith-- it finally has a happy ending.

Hi, Vicky! Happy holidays!

I've read and reviewed the first three chapters of Tiramisu, it's so good, I'm loving it!

Thank you so much, Chiara @Felpata_Blizzard for reading Tiramisu and writing such supportive reviews.  Maybe one of the most supportive things we can say in a review is something to the effect of "I can't wait to go on to the next chapter," and that's what you said.  When I finish writing in my journal about Christmas with my family (a properly 2020 Christmas -- someone drove their car at 80 mph over the bridge spanning the Columbia River, failed to negotiate the turn at the far side, and crashed into a natural gas relay station, wiping out natural gas service for heating, cooking, and hot water to 6,000 households on Sunday night, and I got my heat back just today),  then I will start writing a bunch of reviews for people's wish lists.  This year has been nonstop weird.
