Felpata_Lupin Posted January 6, 2021 Posted January 6, 2021 Title: Tiramisu Author: @Oregonian Link to Story: here Warnings [if applicable]: violence Reason for Nomination: This story is just so high quality! I'm only four chapters in (admittedly, I'm very behind, need to fix that... ) but I'm already so invested in young Martin's life! The writing is stunning, and so is the worldbuilding/historical reconstruction! It's part of the Potterverse, but could very easily be OF, and something you'd find in a bookstore... and it's such an emotional, touching tale! I'm deeply in love with this!
ineffable_season Posted January 6, 2021 Posted January 6, 2021 Title: The Color of Violets Author: @kuusi palaa Link to Story: here Warnings [if applicable]: Mature (domestic abuse, sexual content, slurs, substance abuse, violence) Reason for Nomination: The Color of Violets tells the story of former detective Evan Thorn as he investigates a most peculiar case. The way Abby weaves elements from HP canon into her depiction of Muggle London during the First Wizarding War is absolutely brilliant! As a reader, you see the world through Thorn’s point of view, in all the dark and grittiness. You feel his apprehension and the curiosity inside of him while he works to solve this case. Even knowing what little we do about Dennis Bishop, Amy Benson, and Billy Stubbs, Abby sets them up into this world in a believable manner as a result of their childhood traumas. This is an exciting, murder mystery full of stalking shadows, femme fatales, and a troubled yet likeable protagonist!
