WindingArrow
So... I am writing a one-shot for the Happy and Gay challenge. The one-shot is almost done and so is the banner, I just need a title. It's a Teddy Lupin/Fred Weasley II fic wherein Teddy is a very care-free 7th year who is only just beginning to realize that his closest friend is in love with him and that he has feelings for him, too. Other details include that they attend a student-thrown graduation party in Teddy's honor weeks before leaving Hogwarts. I have no title ideas whatsoever and if anyone might have better ideas if they read what I have so far, PM me and I will send you the story. TidalDragon
The one thing that sprung immediately to mind for me from your description was "Graduating Interest" - sort of a play on words with the 7th year, graduation thing and the other definition as relates to their discovering (and presumably, gradually increasing) romantic interest in one another. WindingArrow
I've almost got it to look really good on my banner, so I'm going to go with it, haha! (Yes, that's my criteria for a title- can I make it look good? ) Thanks, Kevin!
Hobbit
Hi guys, so I am looking for a little help with a new story I am currently writing. It's about Seamus Finnigans Daughter (April) but it is seen (mainly) threw the eyes of her journal, but it is about herself and Lorcan and Lysander (the new Fred and George) going threw their schooling years together but April is a no body while her brother is a someone... April and Lorcan hate each other and well as April has a strong dislike for their mum Luna (a teacher at Howarts). April is an outcast and the story starts with her describing how each year her birthdays have been terrible, but eventually the story will lead up to her 16 maybe 17th birthday (haven't decided yet) and she will finially have some decent friends and maybe a boyfriend - haven't decided yet... but that's the gist... I don't want anything normal, like April's diary... I want something that say hey you, you like next gen - ok read me. Thank you ;D
nott theodore
Hi there! I've had a couple of ideas for you. The first is maybe playing on April's name and common phrases, so you could try: - April Showers (if it fit with the content) - April Fool's (you can play around with the apostrophe here too - like if you do decide to go for a romance, it could be April's Fool) The others play on idioms about secrets and keeping secrets (because it's told in diary form): - Fly on the Wall (because April's an outsider she's able to watch from the edges, until she gets brought into the main events as well?) - Bite Your Tongue (because April's confessing her secrets to the diary but nobody else? And then I saw your post in summary help - this would tie in as a sort of threat for the person that takes the diary? It could also be "Hold Your Tongue") - Lips Are Sealed - Like a Thief in the Night - Under Wraps I hope that these help spark some inspiration for you! WindingArrow
Haha, I want to read this story already. So in addition to Nott's rather fabulous suggestions, I would like to add: Confessions of a Nobody Diary of an Outcast Tales of a Pyromaniac's Daughter Out of the Shadow (This one since it sounds like her life gets better later on, the shadow refers to her rough years at Hogwarts.) I'd love to read this story when you post it!

ImaRavenclaw
Hello friends! I'm working on a one-shot for Meg's Summer Holidays Challenge, and I'm stuck on what I should call it. It is basically a Louis/Teddy where Louis and Teddy go on a romantic camping trip to celebrate their two year anniversary, and when Louis goes back to Hogwarts it will be the first year that they're not at school together, and they're going to have to trust each other more then ever. Originally I was going to call it The Camping Trip, but I want something deeper. Any ideas?

I only have one suggestion that immediately came to mind on reading your description: A Change of Scenery (i.e. it's a camping trip AND because next year things will look different with them not in the same place anymore.) maybe that will spark some ideas? I'll have a think on it and let you know if I come up with anything else!
ImaRavenclaw
That's a really good one! I'll think about it when the fic is fully done. If I do use it I'll make sure to credit you. Thanks so much for the help!
crowsb4bros
Hello lovelies! I have a novel that is my precious beloved baby that I can't come up with a solid title for. The story revolves around a marvelous, strong-willed boss Indian (Goa to be specific) Slytherin girl named Riya who is displaced from her world when another goblin rebellion takes place. She learns to survive at all costs, she struggles with the concept of love (ugh), and she faces the goblin run Ministry with the hopes of restoring order (with minor improvements). My current working title is The Great Goblin Rebellion but I'm not 100% sold on it.
1917farmgirl
*pulls out GIANT LIST OF TITLES she keeps stored on her computer* Hm.....okay, gonna throw some random stuff out here. Please feel free to ignore me. Also, I sometimes tend to find title inspiration in lines from poems and songs, so if these seem familiar, that might be why. We Can Never Go Back to Before Do Not Go Gentle Wrapped Inside a Twisted World To Mend What is Broken An Era Exploding I probably have more somewhere. But maybe those will spur your mind to whirring. dirigibleplums
Okay so I've come up with a *few* possible titles. I don't think they're very good, but it might give you something to bounce off of? - Girl vs Goblins (cheesy as hell, i know ) - Survival of the Fittest - Code Name Riya (inspired by Elizabeth E. Wein's novel 'Code Name Verity'... even though Riya isn't a code name ) - Rich in Rebellions (i originally came up with this one because one website said that Riya meant 'rich' - however, the most popular interpretation is that it means 'singer'. Still I thought I'd throw that in just in case you get inspired!) That's all, I'm afraid. I tried but my brain just isn't cooperating x

BellaLestrange87
So for NaNo, instead of working on my 10 WIPs (I think... I've lost track ) like a responsible person, I decided to start another one. : The problem is that I don't have a title. It's a Lily II/OC story, the sequel to my novel Seek and Chase, which I finished this summer. It features Lily working for the Department of Magical Law Enforcement and her boyfriend is a reserve Quidditch player. It's got action, intrigue, and some other stuff that I haven't figured out yet because I haven't plotted anything out. My current title is "Seek and Chase Sequel" but pretty much anything is better than that.
Guest dehlles
How about Chase & Seek? Hahaha Or if not... Sought & Chased Chased & Sought eh... sorry I couldn't come up with better titles... but none of these work, I'll try to come back and think of at least remotely creative ones. mydearfoxy
Hahaha! Chase & Seek, that's great ;D The first thing i thought of was Lost & Found. Not sure if that really makes sense though. Also you could do something with the double meaning of "Snitch" (Quidditch ball/police aka MLE informer) Snitches & Secrets? I dunno, but it's a thought. suzy turquoise blue
I've had this thread open in my tabs for a while, trying to decide if I should post this or not because I'm seriously, seriously indecisive on this topic. The title I need isn't for a story, specifically; it's a series that needs titling. To sum up, the 'series' is more of an universe that ties together a particular set of characters: the forty students in Harry's year. The main three stories are The Art of Surviving, which focuses on the Hufflepuffs during DH - both at Hogwarts and outside of the school - and is a short story collection, with each chapter/one-shot being based on a tarot card. The Art of Sinning is the Slytherin version, and there'll be a Ravenclaw version too. I initially called it the TAoS-verse back on the old site, but I'm a little sceptical of doing that now, since I'm unsure if it'll make readers think that they need to read the TAoS stories to be able to read the novella, novelette, and one-shot that have popped up since TAoS started and focus on TAoS characters before and after the war. (They don't.) So, I'd really appreciate series title ideas that would tie together the three TAoS stories with Vanishing Acts and Broken Crown without putting too much focus on the TAoS concept, but making it clear that the series is the TAoS-verse. (...and there lies the reason I'm having trouble titling.) All ideas would be greatly appreciated, and ofc I'll give credit if I use yours! <
FireOpal
Tarot! I love Tarot! (And I'll have to read your series, when I have the time!) I don't have any fully fledged ideas but I'm gonna throw some Tarot concepts at you and see if anything sticks, all right? First of, maybe you could do something on the theme of "the Fool's Journey"? The Jouneying Fools Verse? Fools on Journeys Verse? Or maybe something tying in to the Major and Minor Arcana? The Arcanum Verse? The Big Secrets, Small Secrets Verse? Or maybe something about the suits? The Four Suits Verse? Wands, Cups, Swords and Coins Verse? Ooooor lastly, you could pick one or a few cards that you feel represent the whole verse and name it after them, somehow? The Tower Verse? Strenght and Justice? Or just call it The Tarot Verse? Oh, well, I don't know if any of that was any good, but maybe it can inspire you somehow? : P Your universe sounds very intriguing, it deserves a good name! Renacerá
Hello friends! So, I've recently begun the sequel to my novel Rule Breaker, an alternate-DH Dramione that ends after the defeat of Voldemort. It's been three years since I finished writing that, and I'm really excited about the sequel. I'd like the title to somehow harken back to "Rule Breaker" so it's obviously related, but I'm not sure how to do that. The problem is that I had always intended "Rule Breaker" to be a working title--it doesn't fully fit the story if you've read it--but eventually it stuck and can't be changed now. The sequel is going to follow Hermione and Draco as they help to rebuild the wizarding world in the wake of the war. There's a lot to do with reconstruction and reshaping of what was to make what comes better. The only title idea I've had is Rule Makers, but I don't really like that much. Any thoughts and ideas would help tremendously! Thanks so much!

Witty Wayfarer
Playing for the Fitchburg Finches has allowed Wendy Brown to meet a vast variety of different people but none quite like Charlie Weasley, who she met during a match against the Holyhead Harpies. Sharing a love for and talent in Quidditch was more than enough to create a strong friendship but what happens when that friendship begins transforming into something more? Summary credit goes to Rumpel I was thinking about something to do with Quidditch or flying.
