dreamshadow
Title: you crawled inside my head and set a fire there instead Author: @grumpy cat Link to Story: +click Warnings [if applicable]: addiction Reason for Nomination [optional]: this is probably one of my favorite of kris' stories for a lot of reasons. her characterizations of lyanna stark and jaime lannister really jump off the page and their chemistry sizzles off the charts. and like all of kris' writing, it is super poetic and lyrical. my favorite part about these stories is not how they interconnect with each other or are all 1000 words even; it's how it's fluffy, and fluffy in a way that's inherently kris, and how we get to see lyanna's growth as she pushes herself out of a dark place and how jaime is there, ready to follow her out of the dark tldr; it's one of my favorite fics right now, pls do yourself a favor and go read it
lostinthelightss
Title: treacherous Author: @down-in-flames Link to Story: clicky+ Reason for Nomination: im so glad taylor finally posted this story here, and if you haven't read it, what are you doing, because its amazing!!! she perfectly balances on the line between full angst and fluff, leaving the reader (aka me but could also be you) in this weird state of melancholy mixed with heart-warming awwwwww-y-ness (but dw, not even i cried, thats how good she is at the balance), and i don't think i've ever read anything like it. characters? on point! fluff? on point! it's pretty much 30 separate and completely soft moments in kanej's relationship, told completely out of order yet all weaving together wonderfully in a beautiful way and i envy those who are about to read it for the first time i will give one warning, it does have kaz brekker being kinda horny and that is where i draw my line sometimes, and yet its so good i continue to read it - thats how much i love this story. i am voluntarily reading slightly spicy kaz moments just so that i can aw at the rest of it
ineffable_season
Title: Call It What You Want Author: @RogueSlytherin Link to Story: here + Warnings [if applicable]: None Reason for Nomination [optional]: Jacque has such a gift for scene setting and using purposeful language. Just in the opening chapter of this alone, I still think about the "fumbling through the dark," moment that takes place between ex-friends-to-lovers-currently-it's-complicated-Lily/Scorpius. The way this piece stuck with me (and my horrible memory) is a big indication that it is something special. The friend group in this story jumps off the page and is so dynamic. You feel like you are in every moment with them. Fab story, everyone read.
Oregonian
Title: The Dragonbreath Conclusion: Schrodinger's Emotion Author: Flaming Quilltips Link to Story: Here Warnings: None Reason for Nomination: After reading endless Marauders stories, I thought I'd had my fill of them, but for this story I make an exception. This one-shot by Ysh is the final story a three-part series, but it stands alone very well. Featuring Lily, Severus, Sirius, and James, it is thoughtful, nuanced, serious, complicated. The eternal struggle between what you want and what you actually can get. Every character is multifaceted. Nothing is easy or obvious. Wisdom comes slowly, tentatively, from unexpected sources. The future is never assured. My favorite line: "Sometimes things work out serendipitously. Other times, you run into Sirius Black." 1
