ineffable_season
Title: Anathema Author: MrsDarcy Link to Story: here+ Warnings [if applicable]: None. Reason for Nomination [optional]: Amazing world building and just enough teasing of the premise and characters that I am desperately hungry for more. Good original fiction feels immersive and lives rent free in your head at times and this story fits that bill! Do yourself a favor and read this if you haven't already!
Goatspeed
Title: The Crofter and The Snake Author: Oregonian Link to Story: https://fanfictalk.com/archive/viewstory.php?sid=4188 Warnings [if applicable]: Animal Death, War Reason for Nomination [optional]: An unusually different perspective on the Wizarding World. The original character protagonist is very well drawn, and an assortment of characters who play minor roles in canon (and a few not-so-minor ones) have a chance to shine. The story is well-paced and the narrative flow is terrific. 1
Oregonian
Title: Harry's First Christmas Author: Owlpost68 Link: Here Ratings and Warnings: All audiences. No advisories. Warning: Dying and grieving Reason For Nomination: It's getting close to Christmas, and this is the final month when this sweet and so-very-original story by Heather/Owlpost68 would be eligible to be named as the Story of the Month, so it's now or never. James, Lily, Sirius, Remus, baby Harry, and a crazy, risky stunt that becomes a lifelong memory of Harry's first Christmas. Heather makes skillful use of various moments in time. The story is original, poignant, and touching. Life is hard, but filled with special moments. Edited November 28, 2022 by Oregonian
