Title: a different kind of mandarin duck
Author: @Aphoride

Warnings [if applicable]: Internalized Oppression
Reason for Nomination [optional]: Laura just knows how to wrap universal feelings and thoughts in such a prettily tied bow that makes you just go "oh how pretty," while also making you feel like you're being strangled (nicely, of course), by your own feels. This story is beautiful, sprawling, and the self-discovery and the yearning...yeah, just read this. You will have zero regrets! ?

Title:  Loyalties Undefined

Warnings:  War, consent issues, sexual content, slurs, substance abuse, violence

Reason for Nomination:  I was glad to see that Barbara has commenced writing on this noteworthy story again -- a melange of mystery, intrigue, spies, danger, and Grindelwald, set in Nazi-occupied SE France during World War II.  The eminently talented heroine, 19-year-old Katarina Bagshot, is hired as a spy by the British Ministry of Magic against Grindelwald, but her loyalties are really towards her own cause -- learning the circumstances of her beloved brother's death at the hands of Grindelwald -- and revenge.  Neither side in this conflict is all good or all bad.  How deeply can you dabble in the pool of the dictator without getting sucked in?

A complex plot, high-quality writing, mysterious characters -- what's not to love?
