2023 review event & Inkys feedback

It's been a minute since the winter review event and the Golden Ink Awards, and we appreciate you bearing with us as our follow-up to these events has suffered some delays. But this bit is important to us, we're eager for your feedback, and we hope you'll take a couple of minutes to fill out a brief survey about your experiences with both events from earlier this year.

It's a multiple choice 'agree/disagree' sort of thing, so it should be quick, and all questions are optional; and of course responses are anonymous. Please help us continue to make FFT the best it can be! You are also more than welcome to comment in this thread if you have thoughts you want to share.

Expect another general site experience survey sometime in the coming weeks; but in the meantime, as always, we have the anonymous feedback form if you have questions or comments about things unrelated to the review event or Inkys.

Thank you to those who have so far responded to the survey! I did want to respond to one particular concern, hoping the commenter will see this - because I know if it were me, I'd definitely want the clarification!

The anonymity of the nomination process made it difficult for me to know for sure if it was my nomination or someone else's nomination that put Fabulous Story into the running in a certain category. That was important to me because if someone else got the credit for nominating Fabulous Story, then it meant that I would be free to nominate a different Great Story for that category.

I'm so sorry we didn't make this part clear up front - if a member submitted a nomination for something that had already received two in that category, we messaged the member to alert them of this fact and invited them to nominate a different story if they wanted. We were updating the nomination data on our end frequently throughout each day, and considering I pretty much never left those threads during that time,  the few times this did happen I messaged the member within a few hours after their post, if not sooner.

Takeaway: If you nominated a story in any category and it became a finalist, and you did not receive a message from staff inviting you to pick a new one, then rest assured that your nomination DID put that story in the running!
