Like a lot. And like any good writer with an overactive imagination, I started thinking about stories for each of the songs. The only problem is, I don’t actually want to write them but I sure do want to read them, which is where you come in. Your challenge is extremely simple: write a story based off a country song. It does not have to be a song fic or even include the song in it. All your story has to do is encapsulate the feeling and idea of the song. To get assigned a song: I have two playlists available for this challenge: +00s Country and +Country Favorites (rated M to be safe). The former is more old school songs while the latter is more recent songs. Tell me which playlist you would like and I will assign you a random song from it using the Shuffle feature. You may also pick your own song if there’s one that you really like. My definition of country is pretty loose so as long as it vaguely resembles the genre, it’s good to go. You can switch songs up to three times. Up to two people can have the same song. *If there is a fandom you wish to write about that is not here, please ask and we'll see if we can work it out Rules - Must be posted on the HPFT archives (I will only be judging from there) - Must have “The Take a Back Road challenge” noted in the summary - Any length is permitted. Multi-chapters must have at least 2 chapters posted by the deadline - Any type of story is fine except for poetry - No pre-written stories - Can be combined with other challenges - Everyone will be considered a maybe until they enter a story Rewards Every entry will receive a review from me. - Third place: One review one a story of your choice, prize graphic - Second place: Two reviews on a story/stories of your choice, prize graphic - First place: Three reviews on a story/stories of your choice, picspam/aesthetic based on entry, prize graphic If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask.
