Reason for Nomination: When I tell you my mind exploded when I got to the end of this. It's an immensely clever and engaging one-shot with creative magical lore and sharp, often humorous dialogue. From reading Mottsnave's work, it's clear that they've put a ton of thought into the mechanics of magic, and this one-shot is a great foray into that.

reason for nomination: i just really like this story - the writing is great, the characters are distinctive, their voices ring just super-true in a way you feel they're real people.... the theme is difficult for me to read about and some of the things are so... relatable. especially some of the details from chapter 2/zoe's pov that i couldn't not point it out in my latest review.
